The Global Change Leaders Program is a seven-week education program to enable women from developing countries to strengthen their leadership capacities at the Coady Institute, affiliated with St Francis Xavier University in Canada. The program offers successful candidates a full scholarship that includes tuition, travel, accommodations, and meals. United Nations Global Pulse — Big Ideas to Combat Climate Change in Asia
UN Global Pulse is partnering with the Republic of Korea to sponsor a Big Ideas Competition focusing on data-driven ideas to monitor climate-related indicators in the Asia-Pacific region. Proposals should detail original ideas that can be developed into a working prototype. The competition is open to residents of ASEAN member states, Sri Lanka, and the Republic of Korea. Applicants will compete for 12 country prizes, three excellence prizes, and one grand prize — with the total prize amount standing at US$35 thousand. ASEAN Impact Challenge — Accelerating the Achievement of Sustainable Development Goals
This regional programme is designed to discover innovators and strengthen new innovations from Southeast Asia. Categories are early-stage innovations (proposals, ideas, concepts and prototypes) and scale-stage innovation (proven social innovations with the potential and capacity to increase impact). Initiatives by participant teams have ranged from waste management, agriculture, and environment — among others. Clean Energy Wire — Grants for Energy and Climate Journalism
Clean Energy Wire CLEW is offering grants for collaborative media teams on stories with international significance. Topics that explore the transition to clean energy, climate policy, and the shift to a low-carbon economy will be considered. Grants will be between €4 thousand and €6 thousand. Columbus Zoo and Aquarium — Conservation Grants 2018
The Columbus Zoo makes conservation grants for research, local community involvement, capacity building, environmental education, and behavior change leading to improved conservation of wildlife and habitat. Grant requests may range from US$1 thousand to US$25 thousand, but grants are limited to US$5 thousand for first-time applicants. First-time applicants must submit a pre-proposal. International Coral Reef Initiative & UN Environment — Grants for Management of Coral Reefs 2017
The ICRI and UN Environmental Grants Programme invite concept notes for projects on sustainable management of coral reefs. Grants up to US$60 thousand will be awarded to projects aimed at contributing to the implementation of the ICRI plan of action and at protecting and preserving coral reefs and/or related ecosystems. The particular emphasis is building climate resilience and facilitating coral recovery. Grants are available to governments, NGOs, and community groups for projects implemented in developing countries, least-developed countries, and small-island developing states. U.S. Department of State — ASEAN Regional Workshop to Protect the Mekong Environment
The U.S. Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City announces funding to develop and implement a six-day workshop in 2018 on protecting the environment of the Mekong Delta. The workshop will be held in Vietnam, and it will bring together at least 80 members of the Young Southeast Asian Leaders Initiative (YSEALI) who have environmental backgrounds and leadership potential. Eligibility to apply for organizing and implementing the workshop extends to nonprofit civil society organizations and public educational institutions in the USA and other countries. Tata Group — Tata Social Enterprise Challenge, 6th Edition
The Tata Group, in collaboration with the Indian Institute of Management Calcutta (IIMC), seeks to identify promising social enterprises in India. Proposals are invited for social enterprises in agriculture, water and sanitation, energy, and other thematic areas. The proposed enterprises should create social impact in India, although applicants do not have to be Indian nationals. The top three winners of the competition will win cash grants up to 2 lakhs each, to be invested in their ventures. Wildlife Photo — Habitats & Landscapes 2017
The wildlife photography contest series for 2017 is now running. Wildlife Photo will award prizes worth US$18 thousand in total (including photography trips and equipment). A selection of winners and highly-commended images will be exhibited on an outdoor screen in New York City. UN-Habitat — Youth Photography Competition on Climate Change
UN-Habitat is inviting young photographers to participate in a photography contest. The participants should represent solutions to climate change in their communities. The winner of this contest will be sponsored to a fully funded trip to COP-23 in Bonn, Germany where their work will be displayed to gain exposure on a global platform.
