The World Academy of Sciences (TWAS) and the Elsevier Foundation invite applications for project grants for Gender Equity and Climate Action. Grants are awarded to teams of 2-5 women for action-based projects which, although scientific in nature, will take them outside the lab to promote practical and tangible change under the umbrella of the “climate action” SDG in their local context. The project grant is designed to be flexible, with a total value of up to US$25 thousand. The Earth Journalism Network (EJN) offers reporting grants to journalists in Kenya to support the production of in-depth stories on the impacts of climate change. EJN welcomes story ideas that focus on the short- and long-term consequences of environmental destruction and other drivers of climate change. The Networks expects to award up to 10 grants with an average budget of US$800 each. Journalists from Kenya working in any medium (online, print, television, radio) and other expert media practitioners with professional reporting experience are welcome to apply. The Voices for Just Climate Action (VCA) program supports communications and capacity development projects in Kenya to ensure that underrepresented groups become advocates of innovative and inclusive climate solutions. The Alliance seeks to partner with Kenyan organizations specializing in climate change-related research and advocacy for local CSOs, focusing on women, youth, urban poor, rural communities, and marginalized groups.
