The Explorers Club — founded in 1904 — is a multidisciplinary professional society dedicated to the advancement of field research, and to preserving the instinct to explore.

The Club encourages public interest in exploration and the sciences through its lectures program, publications, travel program, and other events. The Club maintains research collections of its history, and it offers small grants as part of its public service commitment.

Grant Programs for Agriculture, Energy, Environment, Natural Resources

1 — Student Grants. The Explorers Club makes grants to students for individual projects in scientific or exploration research. Grants range from US$500 to US$5 thousand.

Exploration Fund — Grants are made to university graduates, post-graduates, doctorate, and early-career post-doctoral students in support of exploration and field research. Research areas include several in ecology and natural history; biogeography; interactions between humans and natural systems; and archaeology related to natural systems.

Youth Activity Fund — Grants are for high school students and college undergraduates to foster a new generation of explorers. Subject areas are similar to those in the Exploration Fund.

2– Scott Pearlman Field Awards. These are grants for artists, writers, filmmakers, photographers, and journalists in support of scientific expeditions sponsored by the Explorers Club.
