Kitchen Table Charities Trust

KitchenTableGrants to small charities for projects in community development in themes that include water supply and small-scale agriculture

Principal Office: UK

The Kitchen Table Charities Trust (KCTC) was created to help small charities which use small amounts of money to transform people’s lives in the developing world.

The Trust’s priorities include support for clean drinking water and sanitation, revenue-generating projects, primary education, and child and mother care.

Grant Programs for Agriculture, Energy, Environment, Natural Resources

Grants for grassroots development. KCTC aims to improve the social and economic conditions of communities. Grant making includes attention to health, education, poverty alleviation, and humanitarian issues.

Clean water — Past projects include several in rainwater harvesting, borehole drilling, pump installation, and related activities that link water, sanitation, and health.

Agriculture – The Trust funds revenue-generating activities to help alleviate poverty. This includes support for vegetable gardens, bee keeping, goat rearing, agricultural cooperatives, and similar examples.

Grants can be made to charities that have registration in the UK, and to charities registered in the country of the project. Most projects to date are located in Sub-Saharan Africa. KCTC has funded a smaller number of projects in other regions (e.g., South Asia, Southeast Asia).

Grants rarely exceed £10 thousand per project or organization. KCTC prefers to support specific projects rather than general running costs.
