The Future for Nature Foundation has the goal to protect wild animals and plants. Towards this end, the Foundation presents the Future for Nature Award to recognize and financially support individuals for their work in species protection.

The Award honors creativity, leadership, innovation, and entrepreneurship in the field of species protection and conservation. The Award aims to reinforce the ongoing conservation work of the winners.

Grant Programs for Agriculture, Energy, Environment, Natural Resources

Future for Nature Award. The Award is annually offered to individuals not older than age 35 who contribute substantial long-term benefit to the conservation of one or more animal and/or plant species, or to the conservation of specific populations of animal or plant species.

The Foundation gives priority to the conservation and protection of endangered species (i.e., IUCN’s Red List).

The awards are open to candidates of any nationality or residence.

Each of three award winners is given €50 thousand and a sculpture.

APPLICATION: The Foundation makes one call for nominations each year.

Potentially interested individuals should study the Foundation’s criteria.

The Foundation accepts self-nominated individuals, as well as nominations by third parties. The Foundation posts an online application form, and a calendar deadline for submissions.

Burgers Zoo in Arnhem, the Netherlands, is the main sponsor of the Future for Nature Award. Burgers is also the venue of the annual conference where the awards are officially given.
