Feed the Future Innovation Lab for Small Scale Irrigation — Scaling Small-Scale Irrigation

The Feed the Future Innovation Lab for Small Scale Irrigation seeks private sector partners in the areas of irrigation technology supply, finance and value chain development to accelerate scaling of small-scale irrigation technologies in Ghana and Ethiopia. Proposed projects must benefit smallholders and be environmentally sustainable. The proposed budget should not exceed US$725 thousand. In order to be eligible, for-profit businesses and social enterprises must have a presence and experience in the region and/or country of interest. German Embassy — Small-Scale Project Funding for Bangladesh

Germany provides direct financial assistance to NGOs, local communities and religious institutions for the implementation of a small project for the benefit of disadvantaged groups of society in Bangladesh. ASEAN Foundation — FutureReady ASEAN Competition

Future Ready ASEAN is an online platform with learning tracks to foster digital skills, in particular computer science. The FutureReady ASEAN Competition invites ASEAN youth to develop a blog site on a pressing challenge in the ASEAN region across one of the four following sub-themes: Agriculture, Biodiversity, Climate Change, Water. The competition is open to all ASEAN youth aged 15 to 35. The finalists will be invited to present their blog at a final event in Bangkok, Thailand (28-29 November 2019). European Union — Support for Entrepreneurs in the MENA Region

The Next Society launches its 3rd call for applications to join the Start-up Booster Track, a program that offers tailor-made support to Mediterranean startups. Participants will learn how to raise fund through workshops and training. The track is open for innovative early-stage startups with products or services in the following areas: Tech & Software, Food, Environment, Energy, Health, Social & Culture. International Fund for Agricultural Development — Meat Value Chains for Women and Youth in Africa

The International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) seeks proposals for grants to  implement inclusive red meat value chains for women and youth farmers in Eastern and Southern Africa. The IFAD will support livestock development in the targeted countries Malawi, Mozambique, Zambia, and Zimbabwe. The grant amount under this call is up to US$2 million. Euromena Consulting invites applications for the 3rd Euromena Awards – Sub-Saharan Africa Edition. The awards are intended for companies or innovative projects with social, economic, environmental and/or societal impact. To be eligible, the startup must be based in a sub-saharan country. The three winners will receive 6 months of customized business consulting (coaching, mentorship, and advisory services), plus financial rewards – 1st place €5 thousand; 2nd place €3 thousand; 3rd place €2 thousand. German Academic Exchange Service — Masters and Doctoral Studies in Poverty, Land & Agrarian Studies

The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) offers scholarships for Masters and Doctoral Studies in Poverty, Land & Agrarian Studies at the Institute for Poverty, Land & Agrarian Studies (PLAAS), University of the Western Cape (UWC). The scholarship covers tuition fees, travel, and a monthly living allowance. The scholarship is aimed at young candidates, mid-career professionals, researchers and university staff from Africa. European Commission — Sustainable and Organic Food Systems

The ERA-NET SUSFOOD2 and CORE Organic Cofunds (SF/CO) launches a joint call for transnational research project proposals on sustainable and organic food systems. The call aims to reinforce research cooperation between EU members and associated states to develop more sustainable food systems from production to consumption. The maximum budget is €1.5 million per research proposal. The call is open to research consortia comprised of a minimum of 3 independent legal entities from a minimum of 3 different SF/CO partner countries. European Commission — Carbon Farming in Timor-Leste

The European Commission seeks to reduce carbon emissions resulting from deforestation and poor agricultural practices. The objective of this call is to improve the climate resilience of subsistence farmers in Timor-Leste through the application of rural climate smart practices and reforestation in targeted rural areas. The grants requested under this call can be up to €2.7 million. Eligibility extends to non-profit organizations in a Member State of the European Union or Timor-Leste. The International Trade Centre (ITC) invites applications from women entrepreneurs and women-owned businesses for the SheTrades Invest program. Selected companies will gain access to learning opportunities, technical assistance, and a network of investors.
