EuroScience — Mobility Grant to attend the EuroScience Open Forum

The Nature Travel Grant Scheme offers journalists and members of media organisations from around the world the opportunity to attend EuroScience Open Forum (ESOF) in Toulouse (France) in July 2018. The biennial forum is dedicated to scientific research and innovation from all sectors. The grant offers complimentary registration as well as help covering travel and accommodation costs. SeaWorld and Busch Gardens — Grants for Wildlife Conservation, Research, and Education

The Conservation Fund makes grants for wildlife conservation, research, and education. Applications are accepted from non-profit organizations, government entities, and schools and universities in the USA and other countries. Most grants are under US$50 thousand. Applications received by 30 April 2018 will be considered for funding in the last two quarters of 2018. More

Roth Family Foundation — Fellowship for Short Courses related to Safe Drinking Water and Sanitation

The Roth Family Foundation offers three full fellowships per year for IHE Delft Short Courses related to Safe Drinking Water and Sanitation, to female water professionals from Sub-Saharan Africa. The fellowship covers the tuition fee, study related costs, insurance and contributes towards the costs of living and travel. Eligible candidates must be female, have a Bachelor of Science degree and at least two years of working experience. A list of eligible short courses can be found in the announcement. U.S. Agency for International Development — Accelerating Women Entrepreneurs

USAID accepts applications for the Accelerating Women Entrepreneurs prize. The prize provides acceleration services including investment readiness consulting, investor matchmaking support, and business analysis to women entrepreneurs. Projects may be focussing on various thematic areas around the main topic agriculture, including aquaculture/livestock, pest management, irrigation and water, and postharvest among others. Eligibility extends to women-owned or operated commercial enterprises in sub-Saharan Africa that provide services and projects to smallholder farmers. Applications must be submitted by 25 April 2018. Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation — Scholarships 2018-2019

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI) offers grants to foreign citizens and Italian citizens living abroad for the academic year 2018-2019 in order to foster international cultural, scientific and technological cooperation. Grants are offered to pursue study, training, and/or research programs at Italian Higher Education Institutes. (Note: This may include one or more categories covered by the Terra Viva Grants Directory). Grantees will receive a €900 monthly allowance on a quarterly basis and health insurance. Future Africa Institute — Early Career Fellowship

The University of Pretoria announces a new Early Career Fellowship that aims to develop research leadership for the African Bioeconomy. The program will require that at least 70% (8-9 months) of the academic year is spent at the Future Africa Campus of the University of Pretoria. Applications are welcome for such topic areas as technological and non-technological exploitation of natural resources, ecological issues and climate change, and others. Emerging research leaders in the natural and social sciences and humanities are encouraged to apply. Monarch Butterfly Fund — Monarch Butterfly Migration Challenge

The Monarch Butterfly Fund (MBF) launches an international competition to find a tracking technology that can deliver important scientific insights. The fund offers a $50 thousand cash prize to the individual or team that can conceptualize and develop an innovative tagging and tracking system that can be easily implemented in current conservation and scientific research, allowing individual monarchs to be tracked during the migration. FIRE Africa — Women Empowerment and Community Networks

The FIRE Africa Grants support new projects from organisations led by female entrepreneurs focusing on practical solution(s) that use technology to address specific challenges faced by women and girls. Selected projects will receive up to US$15 thousand and benefit from a series of institutional strengthening and capacity building activities aimed at providing the knowledge, tools and contacts needed to further advance successful initiatives. Projects from African-based public or private sector organizations, universities, or research and development institutions, and non-government organizations will be considered. DAAD and SEARCA — In-Country/In-Region Scholarship Programme

DAAD offers scholarships for PhD and Master studies. The scholarships are intended for graduate and postgraduate students from South East Asia who want to pursue Master’s or PhD courses in sustainable agricultural and rural development in their home country (In-Country scholarships) or in another South East Asia country (In-Region scholarships). DAAD In-Country/In-Region scholarship holders are also encouraged to apply for a research grant in Germany for 2 up to 6 months. The scholarship covers tuition; study and research allowance; food, lodging and incidental expenses; travel; and insurance. Female applicants are especially encouraged to participate. Earth Journalism Network — Fellowship to attend the Congress for Conservation Biology (LACCCB 2018)

Earth Journalism Network (EJN) invites working journalists from Latin America and the Caribbean to apply for the biodiversity and conservation fellowship at the inaugural LACCCB 2018 (25-27 July 2018, in Trinidad & Tobago). Selected participants will attend a workshop prior to the congress and then spend their time at the conference, developing sources and story ideas, and reporting on news from conservation organizations, governments and researchers.
