Australian Government — Direct Aid Program Papua New Guinea

The Australian Government seeks applications for its Direct Aid Program (DAP) in Papua New Guinea. The small grants program supports small-scale sustainable development projects and activities in the fields of water and sanitation, environmental protection, food security, scientific research, and others. Eligibility extends to community groups, NGOs and academic institutions engaged in development activities on a not-for-profit basis. Expressions of interest have to be submitted by 28 October 2022. Asian Development Bank — Climate Change Data Visualization Challenge

ADB South Asia Department (SARD) aims to increase the visibility of the importance of climate research and build climate action capacity in ADB developing member countries. The Data Visualization Challenge seeks data scientists and practitioners to create novel and insightful visualizations on climate change and resilience. The winner will have the potential to be contracted by ADB to develop and deliver workshops on data literacy and visualization for a total contractual value up to US$10 thousand. Association of Commonwealth Universities — Early-Career Conference Grants

Early-career conference grants support emerging academics so they can take part in conferences that can have a profound impact on their teaching and research. This year’s grants are being offered for both virtual (online) and in-person conferences. Virtual conference grants cover the conference registration fee of up to £600 and a data grant of £50 for applicants who do not have reliable access to Wi-Fi. In-person conference grants are a maximum of £2,000 to cover conference registration fees, flights, accommodation and other travel related costs. United Nations Development Programme — Climate Innovation Accelerator

The Adaptation Fund Climate Innovation Accelerator (AFCIA) accepts applications for small grant funding. Grants are US$60 thousand (for new pilot projects) or US$125 thousand (for organizations with established customers). Funding should be used to enhance local climate action through the implementation of innovative locally-led adaptation practices, tools, and technologies. Grant funding is open to non-profit organizations, civil society organizations, business member associations, cooperatives, and community-based organizations registered in a developing country. World Wildlife Fund U.S. — Reforestation Grants

The Reforestation Grant Program supports communities in deforested and degraded landscapes through forest restoration and reforestation. Reforestation grants are made to local organizations that focus on connecting corridors, creating buffer zones, improving degraded lands, restoring watersheds, and expanding forest cover. Earth Journalism Network — Environmental Justice Reporting

The Earth Journalism Network (EJN) offers reporting grants to journalists in the Asia-Pacific region, to support the production of in-depth stories on environmental and climate injustice. EJN plans to make 20 story grants of US$1,000 each to youth journalists aged 30 and below to produce innovative and engaging stories on environmental and climate issues in the region.  The application deadline is 05 October 2022. Facebook — Community Accelerator Program

Facebook announces its Community Accelerator Program to provide training, support and funding to enable great communities to make an even greater positive impact in the world. Facebook will award up to US$40 thousand per community and provide personalized coaching. The program is open to communities that have a presence in Facebook Groups with leaders who reside in the following countries: Argentina, Colombia, Chile, Peru, Mexico, Brazil, United States, Philippines, Indonesia, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, Bangladesh, United Kingdom, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, South Africa, Kenya, Nigeria, Ghana, Zambia, Tanzania, Egypt, Morocco, Lebanon, Jordan, United Arab Emirate & India. EIT Climate-KIC — Blue Economy Accelerator

Climate-KIC seeks a service provider to deliver a virtual accelerator program for blue economy start-ups, social enterprises and not-for-profits in the Pacific Islands. The delivery organization must be based in the Pacific Islands and have a presence across multiple islands. The program will support 5-10 innovations with up to a maximum grant value of €80 thousand from across multiple Pacific Islands nations. This call is open to entrepreneurship support organizations located in Fiji, Kiribati, Marshall Islands, Nauru, Niue, Papua New Guinea, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Tokelau, Tonga, Tuvalu, Vanuatu and Wallis & Futuna. Climate Tracker — Just and Sustainable Energy

Climate Tracker invited applications for collaborative grants on just and sustainable energy transition in Southeast Asia. Fellows will receive training and be mentored by journalists and experts on a just energy transition. Selected fellows will benefit from grants to fund their in field reporting and publication and a network of like-minded journalists across the region. European Commission — Agri-Enterprise Program Bangsamoro

The European Commission (EC) seeks to support the development of agri-fisheries in Bangsamoro. Proposals should address locally integrated agri-fishery systems and market driven value chain developments through a multi-annual action plan, be environmentally sustainable and focus on the  use of agro-ecological farming techniques. Grants requested under this call for proposals must fall between €1,5 million and €3 million. Eligibility extends to non-governmental organizations, private or public sector operators, local authorities, and international organizations established in a Member State of the European Union.
