Vegan Society — Grant Program

The Vegan Society supports projects which will encourage non-vegans to go vegan and stay vegan. Projects should raise public awareness of veganism, promote veganism to non-vegans, and support people from marginalized backgrounds to access veganism. The typical award is no more than £1 thousand. The Vegan Society welcomes applications from across the world. The deadlines for applications throughout the year are 30 June, 30 September, 31 December, and 31 March. Vegan Society Grants

SHE Foundation — Global Seed Grant

Korea SHE Foundation promotes and creates safe and sustainable households, workplaces and local communities. The grant will fund community projects that are related to safety, health, and environment, e.g., campaigns, workshops, training programs, content production, etc. Projects can focus on finding solutions to and promote clean air and water, sustainable agriculture, clean energy, climate action, conservation, environmental education and environmental justice. Each project is funded up to US$3 thousand. Only citizens or grassroots organizations from OECD ODA recipient countries can apply. The application deadline is 19 March 2023. More information

Ashoka and HSBC — Green Changemakers Challenge

The Green Changemakers Challenge is a global innovation competition for social entrepreneurs in selected markets with ventures that equip individuals and communities with the skills needed to thrive in the transition to a green economy. The challenge seeks social entrepreneurs with ventures that solve the climate crisis along with social problems. The Green Skills Innovation Challenge will award social entrepreneurs with up to US$25 thousand of grant funding. Applications have to be submitted before 26 April 2023. Green Changemakers Challenge

IUCN and UNEP — Global Ecosystem-based Adaptation

The Global Ecosystem-based Adaptation (EbA) Fund supports scaling up innovative approaches to ecosystem-based adaptation to increase the resilience of communities against the impacts of climate change. The goal is to build awareness and understanding of the critical role of natural assets in underpinning resilience and expand the knowledge base to help make the case for working with people and nature. The fund is open for contributions of US$50 thousand to US$250 thousand, with no specified country focus. The maximum project duration is 36 months. Alliance for a Green Revolution in Africa — Women Agripreneur Awards

Applications are open for the VALUE4HER Women Agripreneur of the Year Awards (WAYA). The award recognizes African women agripreneurs who have demonstrated remarkable innovation in their business by having an impact in food security, climate resilience, women and youth employment. WAYA recognizes women in three distinct categories, with each receiving a US$20 thousand cash prize. United Nations World Food Programme — Fighting Hunger Worldwide

The World Food Program (WFP) is the world’s largest humanitarian agency fighting hunger worldwide, delivering food assistance in emergencies and working with communities to improve nutrition and build resilience. The program seeks profit and non-profit organizations with great ideas and bold solutions to solve hunger globally. The Innovation Accelerator offers financial support, training and access to WFP partners and technical experts. Critical Ecosystem Partnership Fund — Biodiversity Conservation in the Mediterranean Basin

The Critical Ecosystem Partnership Fund (CEPF) invites Letters of Inquiry (LOIs) for small grants (up to US$50 thousand) for projects that support the sustainable management of water catchments through integrated approaches for the conservation of threatened freshwater biodiversity in the Mediterranean Basin. Eligibility extends to non-governmental organizations, community groups, universities and private enterprises. The ecosystem profile technical summary is available in English, French, and Arabic. Village Capital — Ecosystem Restoration

Village Capital invites applications for the “Innovation for Ecosystem Restoration: LatAm 2023” accelerator. The  program addresses entrepreneurs championing forest restoration, restoration of aquatic production ecosystems and rewilding throughout Latin America. Participants will receive mentorship and access to an investment analyst. Eligibility extends to (for-profit) startups building locally viable ecosystem restoration solutions. Australian Government — Direct Aid Program: Pacific

The Australian Government supports small-scale sustainable development projects and activities in the fields of agriculture; water and sanitation; and others. The Direct Aid Program will support activities for sustainable community development in Micronesia, Palau, and the Marshall Islands. The maximum funding limit is US$20 per project for 12 months. French Development Agency — Digital Energy Challenge

The Digital Energy Challenge supports the development of innovative solutions for energy access, the integration of renewable energy and public utility performance improvement. The 2023 Call for Projects targets projects based in Sub-Saharan Africa. Projects must have a core element of digital technology (telecom, computer, or cloud-based).
