Schneider Electric — Go Green Student Competition: Europe

Schneider Electric seeks applications for the Go Green global student competition in Europe (including Eastern Europe, Eurasia and Central Asia). Students are invited to submit solutions to real-life case challenges within energy management or ideas for sustainable energy access. Top teams will be invited to attend the Virtual Global Finals to pitch their ideas. In addition, one all-female team from the semi-finals will win the Women in Business Award. Global winners will be awarded a €10 thousand prize. The deadline to submit energy ideas is 10 May 2023. Go Green

GrowthAfrica — Accelerator for African Entrepreneurs

GrowthAfrica supports African businesses and entrepreneurs through an annual accelerator program. Participants of the program receive individualized and tailored in-company support, access to potential investors, leadership training and mentorship. Entrepreneurs in the fields of Agribusiness, Renewable Energy, and Water & Sanitation are especially welcome. The program is open to entrepreneurs from Kenya, Uganda, Ethiopia, Zambia, and Ghana. EnDev — Stove Production Enterprises

The EnDev Program facilitates access to modern energy services for households, social institutions, and small and medium enterprises through market development for improved cook stoves. EnDev Uganda offers business development services support through targeted mentoring, training, and coaching. The call targets small and medium enterprises operating in the off-grid solar or clean cooking sectors in Uganda. The deadline for submission of applications is 24 March 2023. Know more

German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy — Women in Renewable Energy

The mentoring program “Energising Women to Advance the Energy Transition” aims to address the gender gap in the renewables sector. The program offers mentoring, online courses, networking and peer-to-peer exchange. The program accepts applications from women working in the renewable energy or energy efficiency field. Participants must be nationals from Brazil, Chile, Mexico, Uruguay, Algeria, Jordan, Morocco, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Tunisia, the United Arab Emirates, China, India, South Korea, Vietnam, Japan, Ethiopia, Namibia, and South Africa. Enel Foundation — Africa’s Clean Energy Future

The Enel Foundation invites young African leaders (between 24 and 35 years) to apply for the Open Africa Power program. Open Africa Power is an education venture aiming to forge a new generation of African leaders deeply engaged with their country’s clean energy future. Up to 150 African students and early-career professionals will have the opportunity to participate in professional development and leadership activities. The application deadline is 10 April 2023. Biomimicry Institute — Nature-Inspired Solutions for a Healthy Planet

The Biomimicry Institute seeks applications for the Ray of Hope Prize which celebrates nature-inspired solutions addressing the world’s biggest environmental and sustainability challenges. The challenge is open to innovative ideas from a variety of topics, such as agriculture, water, clean energy, biotechnology, and many more. Up to 10 startups will be selected as finalists to pitch their business idea for US$100 thousand in prize money which can be used to develop their ideas into market-ready products. European Commission — Civil Society Development in India

The European Commission (EC) aims to promote capacity development of local civil society in India. In India, EU investments focus primarily on clean energy, water, biodiversity and sustainable agriculture. Applicants may request up to €3 million in project funding. European Commission — Civil Society Development in Moldova

The European Commission (EC) aims to promote capacity development of local civil society in Moldova. The action aims to support a fair energy transition and increased access to renewable energy for social buildings, and support improved access to water, sanitation and hygiene facilities in schools. Applicants may request between €700 thousand to €4.3 million in project funding. Eligibility extends to non-profit organizations established in the European Union or Moldova. SHE Foundation — Global Seed Grant

Korea SHE Foundation promotes and creates safe and sustainable households, workplaces and local communities. The grant will fund community projects that are related to safety, health, and environment, e.g., campaigns, workshops, training programs, content production, etc. Projects can focus on finding solutions to and promote clean air and water, sustainable agriculture, clean energy, climate action, conservation, environmental education and environmental justice. Each project is funded up to US$3 thousand. Only citizens or grassroots organizations from OECD ODA recipient countries can apply. The application deadline is 19 March 2023. More information

OPEC Fund for International Development — Young Professional Development Program

The Young Professional Development Program (YPDP) is a two-year program designed to prepare young professionals from OPEC Fund member countries for a career in global development. The themes include poverty reduction, energy and sustainable development, environment, and other related science and technology fields. YPDP offers training, coaching and mentoring, the opportunity to experience different departments and access to professional networks. To be selected for the program, applicants must be 30 years of age (or younger) and hold a Master’s degree. The deadline for applications is 24 March 2023. More about the YPDP
