Newton Advanced Fellowships provide established international researchers with an opportunity to develop the research strengths and capabilities of their research group through training, collaboration, and reciprocal visits with a partner in the UK. Research must be within the remit of natural sciences, which includes but is not limited to biological research, chemistry, engineering, mathematics and physics. Applicants must have a PhD or equivalent research experience, and hold a permanent or fixed-term contract in an eligible university or research institute for the duration of the project. The scheme provides up to £37 thousand per year for up to two years covering salary, research costs, travel, and training costs. The application deadline is 12 November 2019. The International RiverFoundation invites applications for the Vera Thiess Fellowship for Women. Women from developing countries get the opportunity to gain valuable work experience through the IRF and its partners, with the goal of advancing women’s participation in water and river management. Indo-U.S. Science and Technology Forum — Water Advanced Research and Innovation Fellowships
The Water Advanced Research and Innovation Fellowships fund Indian participants to gain exposure and access to research facilities in water resources at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and the Daugherty Water for Food Institute. Fellowships of three to twelve months are for Indian scientists holding a PhD in water science and engineering. U.S. Department of State — Fulbright-National Geographic Storytelling Fellowship 2020-2021
The Fulbright-National Geographic Storytelling Fellowship provides opportunities for an academic year of international travel and storytelling in up to three countries on a globally significant theme. For the 2020-21 competition, the Fellowship will accept proposals to undertake an in-depth examination of a globally relevant issue (possibly within the thematic areas of the Terra Viva Grant Directory). In addition to financial support, participants will receive training in professional storytelling. Eligibility for the fellowships is limited to U.S. citizens.
