ASEAN Impact Challenge — Accelerating the Achievement of Sustainable Development Goals

This regional programme is designed to discover innovators and strengthen new innovations from Southeast Asia. Categories are early-stage innovations (proposals, ideas, concepts and prototypes) and scale-stage innovation (proven social innovations with the potential and capacity to increase impact). Initiatives by participant teams have ranged from waste management, agriculture, and environment, among others. Columbus Zoo and Aquarium — Conservation Grants 2018

The Columbus Zoo makes conservation grants for research, local community involvement, capacity building, environmental education, and behavior change leading to improved conservation of wildlife and habitat. Grant requests may range from US$1 thousand to US$25 thousand, but grants are limited to US$5 thousand for first-time applicants. First-time applicants must submit a pre-proposal. Zoos Victoria — Grants for International Conservation 2018-2019

Zoos Victoria (Australia) helps build international conservation partnerships. The International Grants program is themed ‘Wildlife Conservation through Community Engagement’, recognising the importance of engaging people in protecting wildlife, while supporting sustainable development. Eligibility extends to any organization or group that is able to undertake projects in this theme. Grants are up to AUD 20 thousand for projects of one year. WWF in India — Small Grants Innovation Program

WWF-India offers grants up to INR 400 thousand for conservation research or action projects of up to two years. Grants are made to individuals to be utilized primarily for field activities. Kingdom of Saudi Arabia — Award for Environmental Management in the Islamic World

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Award for Environmental Management in the Islamic World (KSAAEM) accepts applications for its current edition (2018-2019). The Award aims at consolidating the broad concept of environmental management in the Islamic world; encouraging sustainable development; and publicizing the outstanding efforts and successful practices in the field of environmental management. Youth Peace Initiative — Peacebuilders Video Contest

The Youth Peace Initiative (YPI), together with the Carnegie Foundation and the United Network Of Young Peacebuilders, invites young filmmakers between 18 and 29 years to submit videos that highlight best practices and achievements of young grassroots peace activists (Note: This may include environmental peacebuilding). The best videos compete for the Youth Carnegie Peace Prize. The winner will be awarded with the title ‘Youth Ambassador of the Peace Palace’ during the One Young World Summit in The Hague (The Netherlands) in September/October 2018. British Council — Researcher Links Workshops, UK/Turkey

Researcher Links Workshops bring together early-career researchers from the UK and a partner country to make international connections that can improve the quality of their research. UK and Turkish Institutions can request up to £40 thousand to be used towards workshop implementation. All workshops must be held in 2019. Each proposal must have one Principal Applicant from the UK and one Principal Applicant from Turkey. The submission deadline is 17 September 2018. Link

Safari Club International Foundation — Grants for Wildlife Conservation and Research 2019-2020

The SCI Foundation funds projects and direct wildlife programs dedicated to wildlife conservation, research, and outdoor education in Africa, Asia, and North America. Grants are up to US$50 thousand per year. The application deadline is 31 October 2018. Link

UK Natural Environment Research Council — Towards a Sustainable Earth

The UK Natural Environment Research Council and funding partners invite proposals for the Towards a Sustainable Earth (TaSE) initiative, which aims to improve our understanding of the complex interactions between people and the environment required to make progress in achieving the United Nations Global Goals (Sustainable Development Goals). Applicants are invited to submit multilateral collaborative research proposals comprising eligible researchers from a minimum of three nations (Eligible funding agencies can be found in the call for proposals).
