Yves Rocher Foundation — International Terre de Femmes Award

The Yves Rocher Foundation invites applications for the International Terre de Femmes Award to honor women for their achievements in environmental awareness, conservation, and solidarity. The 6th edition in 2024, seeks applications under the theme “Insects for a Living Planet!”. The award will be given to a project launched by a woman or a group of women committed to the conservation of wildlife and associated ecosystems. The winner receives a monetary award of €10 thousand. The international award is open to women worldwide involved in a project that helps to protect the environment through a non-profit organization. U.S. Department of State — TechGirls 2024

TechGirls is an international summer exchange program designed to empower and inspire young women from around the world to pursue careers in science and technology. The program is open to teenage girls (ages 15-17) from eligible countries in Sub-Saharan Africa, East Asia and Pacific, Europe and Eurasia, the Middle East and North Africa, South and Central Asia, and Latin America. TechGirls covers the costs of travel, accommodation and meals for participation in the technology camp hosted by Virginia Tech University. The application will close on 08 December 2023. Farm Radio International — Farm Radio Awards

The Liz Hughes Award for Her Farm Radio recognizes excellent radio programs that serve women listeners. Winning radio programs explore topics that are important to women, for example health, education, agriculture, or a combination of topics. The winning broadcast team will receive a certificate and C$1,000. Farm Radio International broadcasting partners in Sub-Saharan Africa can apply. The deadline to apply is 20 October 2023. Elsevier Foundation — Chemistry for Climate Action Challenge

The Elsevier Foundation Green and Sustainable Chemistry Challenge is open for individuals and organizations whose projects use green and sustainable chemistry solutions to tackle climate change challenges. The Challenge aims to recognize the pivotal role women play in combating climate change, therefore, projects must take into consideration gender components. The winning projects will receive a prize of €25 thousand each. The Challenge is open to individuals and non-profit organizations. The deadline for submissions is 13 November 2023. Regional Incubator for Social Entrepreneurs — Support for Young Social Entrepreneurs

Regional Incubator for Social Entrepreneurs (RISE) is a project for the youth, willing to learn and change things for the betterment of the Western Balkans. RISE invites ideas or innovative solutions for a new and better way to approach education, women empowerment, culture, rural development, health or employment in regional communities. The program will support regional changemakers through tailor-made programs, mentorship, and training. Young people from 18 to 35 years old from Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, Montenegro, North Macedonia and Serbia are eligible. Please note that Local Incubators may have different deadlines. U.S Agency for International Development — Locally Led Development Initiative LAC

The Locally Led Development Initiative seeks to increase sustainability and impact in the areas of regional environmental and sustainable growth; women’s empowerment, and climate change. Concept notes should propose programs implemented in two or more of the following Amazon Basin countries: Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, Guyana, Peru, and Suriname. Funding ranges from US$250 thousand to US$2.5 million. USAID welcomes concepts from local and regional entities who have a solid understanding of the development challenges facing their communities. U.S Agency for International Development — Climate Gender Equity Fund

The Climate Gender Equity Fund (CGEF) aims to increase access to finance for community-based organizations that advances gender equitable climate action. The Fund seeks climate- and gender-smart fund managers and entrepreneur networks aiming to unlock capital for long-term and systemic change. Organizations may propose to use grant funding for a variety of purposes including building their own capacity to provide gender-smart and gender transformative climate finance. CGEF is targeting grant awards of US$100 thousand to US$300 thousand, but will consider grants up to US$500 thousand. The application deadline is 06 October 2023. Climate Gender Equity Fund

L’Oréal — Fund for Women

L’Oréal supports organizations in their efforts to help women to get out of poverty. The Fund focuses on supporting women and girls’ empowerment, particularly through projects in favor of social or professional integration and education. A specific attention is paid to refugee women and women with disabilities. Eligibility extends to grassroot non-profit organizations. WAAW Foundation — STEM Scholarships for African Women

The WAAW Foundation supports African women who seek a STEM-focused college education. The Foundation offers a need-based scholarship of US$500 to undergraduate female African students. Applicants have to be under 32 years old and be enrolled in an undergraduate B.S. degree program at a University or college in Africa. Eligible courses include Agriculture, Biology, Botany, Environmental Science, Natural Science, Zoology and many other fields. Application closes on 17 November 2023. Link to the WAAW Foundation

Africa Women Leaders in Agro-ecology — Mentorship Program

AWOLA (Africa Women Leaders in Agro-ecology) is a leadership career development initiative with the aim of equipping women working on agroecology, sustainable agriculture and food systems with leadership skills. The 3-year leadership program aims to create women leadership to transform and influence policies and programs across African countries. AWOLA will support mentees through virtual and face-to-face training sessions and fundraising efforts. The fellowship targets current citizens of Kenya, Zimbabwe and Uganda with experience in agriculture or working on agro-based livelihoods with farming communities.
