Bow Seat — Ocean Awareness Contest
The 2024 Ocean Awareness Contest – Tell Your Climate Story – encourages students to learn about both climate change and solutions to the climate crisis. Participants are invited to create a piece of art, writing, or media that highlights their efforts, organizations, and/or positive impacts of an inspirational scientist, activist, artist, educator, or other hero who is working to solve climate change issues. One Young World — Scholarships to Participate in the One Young World Summit 2024
The One Young World Summit brings together young talents (ages 18-30) from many nationalities to share solutions addressing the world’s pressing issues. To ensure that the most qualified young leaders participate in the Summit, regardless of their ability to pay, fully-funded scholarships are awarded. Breakthrough Prize — Breakthrough Junior Challenge
The Breakthrough Junior Challenge asks youth to submit scientific discoveries or explain a big scientific idea in Physics, Life Sciences, or Mathematics with a short video (max. 2:00 minutes). One winner receives a US$250 thousand post-secondary scholarship, including an additional US$50 thousand teacher prize and US$100 thousand Breakthrough Science Lab. Eligibility is limited to individuals between the ages of 13 and 18 but is open to participants worldwide without geographic limitations. Videos have to be submitted by 25 June 2024. Know more

The One Young World Summit brings together young talents (ages 18-30) from many nationalities to share solutions addressing the world’s pressing issues. One Young World offers scholarships to ensure that the most qualified young leaders participate in the Summit, regardless of their ability to pay. Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations — Global Bioenergy Youth Award
The GBEP Youth Award recognizes research conducted by students in the field of bioenergy. Successful candidates will have the opportunity to present their research and receive their award certificate during the GBEP Bioenergy Week at FAO headquarters in Italy (June 2024). Applicants should be within the age limit of 30 years old for bachelor and Master students, and 35 years old for Ph.D. students. Candidates must complete the application form before 31 March 2024. The Young One World Lead2030 Challenge for SDG 13 seeks to support scalable youth-led solutions that address climate change. The challenge welcomes solutions from young innovators (18-30 years old). The winner will receive a US$50 thousand project startup grant and 12 months of mentorship from Deloitte professionals. World Academy of Sciences — Young Scientists Award for Frontier Science
The World Academy of Sciences (TWAS) recognizes the scientific achievements of young scientists living and working in a developing country. The third edition of the TWAS-CAS award will recognize achievements in Earth Sciences. The award is worth US$10 thousand. TWAS invites nominations from science academies, national research councils, universities, and scientific institutions. Self-nominations will not be considered. OPEC Fund for International Development — Grants
The OPEC Fund provides financial assistance to developing countries, particularly low-income countries, in support of their economic and social development efforts. OPEC will consider requests for (i) grants for country-specific activities and projects; (ii) grants for special development initiatives of global or regional scope; and (iii) emergency aid. In the past, the OPEC Fund has financed projects in agriculture, energy, health, transportation, and water and sanitation sectors. The amount of the contribution will vary according to the scope and the nature of the proposed activity. However, except for emergency aid and small grants in amounts of up to US$100 thousand, OPEC’s contribution should not exceed 50% of the total cost. Eligible partners are any government or non-government entity, including co-financing partners, private sector entities, research entities, UN agencies, and international NGOs. There is no deadline.
