United Nations Development Program — Equator Prize on Nature for Development

The Equator Prize for 2017 will recognize outstanding community and indigenous initiatives in nature-based solutions for local sustainable development.  The Equator Prize welcomes nominations that highlight the initiatives of rural community-based groups in any of the 145 countries supported by the United Nations Development Program.  Nominations are also invited to present the initiatives of indigenous peoples’ communities in any country, operating in a rural area.  The nominated initiatives must have been in existence for at least three years, and/or the actions taken must have been in place for at least three years.  Each winner will receive US$10 thousand. The deadline for nominations (in eight languages) is 08 March 2017.  Link
