The Energy Community aims to extend the EU internal energy market to South East Europe and beyond. The Secretariat of the Energy Community announces the 3rd Energy Community Summer School that will take place in Croatia in August-September 2018. The Secretariat welcomes applications from postgraduate students, researchers in energy-related disciplines, and young professionals from government institutions, companies, think tanks, and NGOs in the region of the Energy Community. The non-EU members of the Energy Community include Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Georgia, Kosovo, FYR of Macedonia, Moldova, Montenegro, Serbia, Ukraine, and Turkey. Misk Foundation — Misk Grand Challenges (1st application window)
The Misk Foundations seeks innovative ways to positively engage young people (under the age of 30) in Global Citizenship. Participants are invited to propose innovative and creative solutions that uses new knowledge to positively engage young people in efforts that will reduce inequality related to six Global Goals: (1) No poverty; (2) Zero hunger; (3) Good health and well-being; (4) Quality education; (5) Gender equality; and (6) Clean water and sanitation. Over a three-year period, Misk Grand Challenges will launch new challenges, offering 100 young innovators across the world a grant of $100 thousand to develop their ingenious ideas into a concrete proof of concept. Barilla Center for Food & Nutrition — Food Sustainability Media Award
The Barilla Center for Food & Nutrition (BCFN) and the Thomson Reuters Foundation invite professional journalists and emerging talent from all over the world to participate in the Food Sustainability Media Award. Applicants may submit written journalism and multimedia (photography, audio and video) contents related to food security, sustainability, agriculture and nutrition. The Alcoa Foundation makes signature grants and location grants. Location grants serve communities around the world where Alcoa has production facilities or administrative offices. Grant making addresses the Foundation’s two key focus areas (i.e., climate change and biodiversity), in addition to local community priorities. Interested organizations make their grant requests through their local Alcoa facility.
