U.S. Department of State — Go Green on Campuses and in Surrounding Communities

The U.S. Department of State announces an exchange program between South African and American undergraduate students and nearby youth community leaders. The program provides grants to projects with the aim to organize sessions on aspects of environmental preservation/conservation and help participants to develop a plan to implement a conservation/environmental preservation plan on their campuses and in their communities. Grants may range from US$60 thousand to a maximum of US$90 thousand. The deadline for applications is 31 May 2019. More

Japan Foundation Center for Global Partnership — Abe Fellowships 2019

The Abe Fellowship encourages international research in the social sciences and related disciplines on topics of pressing global concern — including climate change, sustainable urbanization, environmental degradation, and other cross-cutting issues that advance global problem solving from a transnational perspective. The fellowship program is open to citizens of Japan and the USA, as well as to nationals of other countries who can demonstrate serious long-term affiliations with research communities in Japan or the USA. Stockholm International Water Institute — Stockholm Junior Water Prize 2020

Each year, the Stockholm International Water Institute (SIWI) co-operates with a national organisation that arranges a national Stockholm Junior Water Prize (SJWP) competition. SJWP is open for projects striving to improve water quality, water resources management, water protection, water and wastewater treatment. The competition is open to young people between the ages of 15 and 20. The winner receives US$15 thousand, a crystal sculpture, a diploma as well as the stay in Stockholm during the World Water Week. Whitley Wildlife Conservation Trust — Conservation of Endangered Plant Species

The Whitley Wildlife Conservation Trust awards a number of grants to individuals undertaking nature conservation projects in the UK and internationally (mainly developing countries). Projects may involve practical habitat or species management, research, training, education, awareness raising or campaigning. For the December 2019 round of applications, the Trust will be prioritising applications for conservation of endangered plant species. Most grants range from £500 to £1,500. Royal Bank of Canada — Environmental Donations (Water & Climate Action)

RBC Environmental donations aim to ensure the availability and sustainable management of water while simultaneously supporting initiatives in the area of climate action to protect vulnerable communities. RBC funds initiatives that support the sustainable management and protection of water or projects that help combat climate change and its impacts. Most grants are up to $5 thousand. For all requests over $5 thousand the submitting organization must provide its most recent audited financial statements. Applications are accepted year-round. Guidelines & Eligibility

Rockefeller Brothers Foundation — Sustainable Development in China and the Western Balkans

The Foundation’s Sustainable Development program focuses on climate change, rapid loss of biodiversity, and accelerating degradation of Earth’s life support systems. Geographical focus is mainly on the United States, in addition to two “pivotal place” programs in China and the Western Balkans. Grant recipients are a mix of local and international organizations.
