U.S. Department of State — Fulbright-National Geographic Storytelling Fellowship 2020-2021
The Fulbright-National Geographic Storytelling Fellowship provides opportunities for an academic year of international travel and storytelling in up to three countries on a globally significant theme. For the 2020-21 competition, the Fellowship will accept proposals to undertake an in-depth examination of a globally relevant issue (possibly within the thematic areas of the Terra Viva Grant Directory). In addition to financial support, participants will receive training in professional storytelling. Eligibility for the fellowships is limited to U.S. citizens. Innovate UK — Newton-Ungku Omar Fund Grand Challenge
Innovate UK and the Malaysian Industry-Government Group for High Technology (MIGHT) seeks applications for the Newton-Ungku Omar Fund. The challenge invites innovative products, processes and services with focus on waste management or mobility. Eligibility extends to UK based businesses with at least one partner organisation, business, or academic institution located in Malaysia. British Ornithologists’ Union — Grants and Bursaries 2020
The British Ornithologists’ Union (BOU) invites amateurs and professionals to apply for its Small Ornithological Research Grants. Research grants are up to £2 thousand to support small projects outright, or to partly fund medium-sized programs. The BOU also offers Career Development Bursaries with awards of up to £2,500 to support short-term research positions of young and early-career ornithologists in any country. UNESCO — Keizo Obuchi Research Fellowships Programme 2019
With funding from the government of Japan, UNESCO announces the current cycle of the Keizo Obuchi Research Fellowships. The program is open to post-graduate researchers no older than age 40 who wish to pursue research work abroad (preferably in their own region) in any of four specific fields. These fields include environment — with particular emphasis on disaster risk reduction (DRR). Applications are invited from all Member States. Grants are a maximum of US$10 thousand.
