United Nations Institute for Training and Research — Social Entrepreneurship Training Program for Women

The UNITAR Social Entrepreneurship Training Program for Women aims to empower women with the knowledge and skills of entrepreneurship to address socio-economic challenges in Africa. The training will be delivered in English and consists of mentoring, pitching, planning, and outcome evaluation. This program is open for women, including members of small and medium enterprises, government agencies and academic institutions, from Ethiopia, Kenya, Somalia, and Sudan. IHE Delft Institute for Water Education — Open Courseware Water Productivity

IHE Delft and Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) announce a new open online course on “Water Productivity and Water Accounting using WaPOR.” The WaPOR program assists countries in monitoring water productivity, identifying water productivity gaps, proposing solutions to reduce these gaps, and contributing to a sustainable increase in agricultural production. The online course targets practitioners and academicians who are working in water resources management and related fields and have an interest in using open access remote sensing data and other open-access data to assess the water resources situation in their region. The course is free and self-paced with units being released on a weekly basis. Enrollment starts 01 September 2020. The first course module begins 07 September 2020. Details

European Commission — Civil Society Development in China

The European Commission (EC) seeks to strengthen the civil society in China to help tackle climate change and mitigating its adverse effects, among other priorities. The EC invites proposals that increase the capacities and engagement of local CSOs on climate change mitigation and adaptation. Applicants may request a financial contribution between €800 thousand and €850 thousand. Eligibility extends to non-profit civil society organizations established in China or the European Union. International Fund for Agricultural Development — Global South Rural Poverty Alleviation

The China-IFAD South-South and Triangular Cooperation Facility supports the generation and exchange of innovative solutions that can be of value in the post-COVID-19 recovery period and provide a benefit to poor rural people. The grant amount will range between US$200-500 thousand for a maximum duration of two years. Project proposals have to be developed in collaboration with national governments or local organizations in developing countries, and reflect the priorities of the COVID-19 response package of national governments. European Commission — Civil Society Development through Strategic Communication in Armenia

The European Commission (EC) seeks to enhance the capacity and resilience of civil society organisations in Armenia to be effective actors that contribute to deepening democracy, citizens’ awareness and empowerment. The EC accepts proposals that focus on enhancing awareness of environmentally friendly and climate-change related topics and practices, among other strategic focus topics. Applicants may request a financial contribution of up to €2 million. Eligibility extends to non-profit organizations established in Armenia or the European Union. BIOPAMA — Rapid Response Grants

The Rapid Response Grants aim at increasing the resilience of protected areas and local communities’ livelihoods facing the risks and difficulties of the global COVID-19 pandemic in African, Caribbean and Pacific countries. Any grant requested under this call for proposals must be no more than € 50 thousand. Funding is intended for enhanced management and governance of protected or conserved areas, recovery of protected and conserved areas, and maintaining the livelihoods of local communities whilst effectively contributing to protected areas management.
