The British Academy accepts applications for ‘Just Transitions to Decarbonisation’ in the Asia-Pacific. The program provides UK and internationally-based researchers with the opportunity to submit proposals for in-depth studies focused on just decarbonization transitions in the Asia-Pacific as a whole, and China, India, Japan and Australia specifically. Awards of five months in duration and up to £100 thousand are available. The lead applicant must be a researcher based at an eligible UK university or research institute. Famae — Sustainable Innovations Challenge
The company Famae seeks innovative and concrete solutions to fight against climate change, everywhere in the world, around waste, water, food, habitat, energy and mobility. Solutions should be pragmatic, efficient, durable, and money-saving to make life easier for urban citizens while reducing their environmental footprint. Individuals, teams, businesses, government entities, universities and organizations are eligible to apply. BRICS STI Framework Programme — Call for Research and Development Projects
The BRICS STI Framework Programme calls for proposals to promote research cooperation among partner institutions in Brazil, China, India, Russia, and South Africa. Project proposals should consist of partners in at least three BRICS countries for research on preventing and monitoring natural disasters; water resources and pollution management; new and renewable energy; and other themes. Young Water Solutions — Young Water Fellowship Program: Uganda
Young Water Solutions supports young entrepreneurs to launch their water and sanitation related social businesses. The Young Water Fellowship provides training, seed-funding and mentorship. The workshop aims to empower its participants to implement projects addressing water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH), water pollution, and water scarcity. All training costs (flights, transportation, accommodation, meals) are covered by the organization. To be eligible, applicants must be 18 to 30 years old, intend to stay in Uganda for at least 1.5 years after the training and spend at least 15 hours per week to work on their social business. The “Taiwan Excellence: Sharing is Caring” campaign solicits proposals for philanthropic events on issues relating to social concerns and environmental protection. The three best proposals will be awarded US$10 thousand each. The funds for executing each of the three best proposals shall be decided by the organizers, provided that the funds for implementation do not exceed US$150 thousand. The US-Russia Social Expertise Exchange (SEE) supports professionals and entrepreneurs in Russia and the USA to engage in a meaningful exchange of ideas and best practices. Projects may request funding of up to US$50 thousand for a period between six and nine months. EIT Climate-KIC — Innovation Call for Climate Solutions
EIT Climate-KIC aims to support the development of innovative commercial products or services that achieve climate impact through entrepreneurship and commercial means. EIT Climate-KIC seeks to finance innovators, researchers, scientists, coaches, and experts to join forces in projects that aim to bring innovative solutions to the European market. Innovative actions should address a decarbonization or climate adaptation challenge. World Forestry Congress – Call for Registration 2022
The XV World Forestry Congress will be held in Seoul (South Korea) from 02-06 May 2022. The congress provides the unique opportunity for the global forestry community to consider the state and future of world forestry, particularly in the context of the recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic. Participants come from all over the world and from all sectors, for example, public and private sector, NGOs, CSOs, scientific or professional bodies, and forestry societies, as well as individuals interested in forests and the environment. WFC 2022 supports participation from low-income countries by providing financial assistance to those who would otherwise be unable to participate due to financial constraints. U.S. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration — International Coral Reef Conservation Grants 2022-2023
The NOAA Coral Reef Conservation Program provides matching grants and cooperative agreements for international coral reef conservation projects. NOAA currently invites applications for the international program, with priority for the Wider Caribbean, South East Asia and South Pacific, and Micronesia. The program offers funding from US$40 thousand to US$300 thousand per year for projects of up to two years. The program is open to institutions of higher education, NGOs (U.S. and international), governments (except U.S.), and for-profit organizations. The application deadline is 01 December 2021.
