British Academy — Just Transitions to Decarbonisation

The British Academy accepts applications for ‘Just Transitions to Decarbonisation’ in the Asia-Pacific. The program provides UK and internationally-based researchers with the opportunity to submit proposals for in-depth studies focused on just decarbonization transitions in the Asia-Pacific as a whole, and China, India, Japan and Australia specifically. Awards of five months in duration and up to £100 thousand are available. The lead applicant must be a researcher based at an eligible UK university or research institute. Collaborative Partnership on Forests — Forest Champion Award

The Collaborative Partnership on Forests (CPF) gives the Wangari Maathai Award to one extraordinary individual for having improved their forests and the lives of people who depend on them. Eligible projects include conservation, restoration and sustainable management of forests and raising awareness in support of local communities, rural livelihoods and the environment. The winner of the award will be granted a cash prize of US$20 thousand and travel support to participate in the award ceremony at the upcoming XV World Forestry Congress, (May 2022, Seoul, South Korea). Famae — Sustainable Innovations Challenge

The company Famae seeks innovative and concrete solutions to fight against climate change, everywhere in the world, around waste, water, food, habitat, energy and mobility. Solutions should be pragmatic, efficient, durable, and money-saving to make life easier for urban citizens while reducing their environmental footprint. Individuals, teams, businesses, government entities, universities and organizations are eligible to apply. AfricaLics — PhD Visiting Fellowship Program 2022

The African Network for Economics of Learning, Innovation and Competence Building Systems (AfricaLics) seeks PhD students from universities in Africa to participate in the AfricaLics PhD Visiting Fellowship Program focused on Innovation and Development. The visiting fellowship program intends to increase international mobility and provide PhD students with international knowledge in the field of innovation and development (which includes a four month study stay in Kenya). BRICS STI Framework Programme — Call for Research and Development Projects

The BRICS STI Framework Programme calls for proposals to promote research cooperation among partner institutions in Brazil, China, India, Russia, and South Africa. Project proposals should consist of partners in at least three BRICS countries for research on preventing and monitoring natural disasters; water resources and pollution management; new and renewable energy; and other themes. Young Water Solutions — Young Water Fellowship Program: Uganda

Young Water Solutions supports young entrepreneurs to launch their water and sanitation related social businesses. The Young Water Fellowship provides training, seed-funding and mentorship. The workshop aims to empower its participants to implement projects addressing water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH), water pollution, and water scarcity. All training costs (flights, transportation, accommodation, meals) are covered by the organization. To be eligible, applicants must be 18 to 30 years old, intend to stay in Uganda for at least 1.5 years after the training and spend at least 15 hours per week to work on their social business. Global Environmental Education Partnership — Youth Innovation Challenge 2021

The Youth Innovation Challenge (YIC) invites applicants from 15 to 30 years of age to propose a solution to address climate change, marine litter, or both issues, using environmental education as a key strategy. All proposed solutions should demonstrate how environmental education can help address complex environmental issues and create long-lasting change for a sustainable future. Global Environmental Education Partnership seeks solutions that are innovative, feasible, and informed by research. Three solutions will be awarded a US$1000 prize. Caribbean Disaster Emergency Management Agency — Country Directed Fund

The Caribbean Disaster Emergency Management Agency (CDEMA) invites National Disaster Management Offices and relevant national entities responsible for comprehensive disaster management implementation to apply for grants available through the Country Directed Fund (CDF). The call will cover projects that enhance the capacity of Caribbean countries to deal with, respond to and reduce the risks of natural disasters. Scottish Government — Asia Partnerships Higher Education Research Fund

The Royal Society of Edinburgh (RSE) Scotland Asia Partnerships Higher education Research (SAPHIRE) Fund is available to Scottish universities to enable research to include a focus on environmental issues and climate change. Funding of up to £10 thousand will be provided to support existing research projects in climate research, emissions research, sustainable energy, sustainable agriculture, biodiversity, water and food, and clean water, among others. The scheme is open to Scottish researchers with a partner from either Australia, India, Japan, Pakistan, South Korea, Singapore, ASEAN. Projects can include additional partners from other countries. Ministry of Economic Affairs Taiwan — Taiwan Excellence Awards

The “Taiwan Excellence: Sharing is Caring” campaign solicits proposals for philanthropic events on issues relating to social concerns and environmental protection. The three best proposals will be awarded US$10 thousand each. The funds for executing each of the three best proposals shall be decided by the organizers, provided that the funds for implementation do not exceed US$150 thousand.
