Halcyon — Support for Early-Stage Social Entrepreneurs

The Halcyon Incubator program equips early-stage social entrepreneurs from all around the world with support to transform their ideas into scalable and sustainable ventures. Ventures may be for-profit, hybrid, or undecided, as long as the core mission is to create measurable social change. (Note: This may include business ideas in agriculture, sustainable energy, or sustainable development.) Ventures structured as ‘non-profit’ will only be considered if they have a product or service they are selling. Partnerships (ventures co-founded and led by two individuals) are eligible. Selected entrepreneurs will receive a $10 thousand stipend per venture for food and living expenses during the residency phase, mentorship, one-on-one coaching, and 5 months of free workspace at Halcyon House. Crowd4SDG — Climate Resilience and Justice

Crowd4SDG seeks research projects that address the issues of climate resilience and justice. Participants may submit a project or an idea for a solution that supports individuals and communities’ preparedness for Climate Change. The challenge offers a 5-week online interactive coaching program. The selected applicants will be coached on how to turn an initial idea into a compelling crowdsourcing project. The top two teams will be invited to present their projects to potential UN and NGO partner organizations as well as impact investors. Leibniz-Institute of Freshwater Ecology and Inland Fisheries — Fellowship Program in Freshwater Science

The Leibniz-Institute of Freshwater Ecology and Inland Fisheries (IGB) in Germany invites scientists from all countries and at different career stages to apply for a research visit. The program offers fellowships for PhD students, postdocs, and senior scientists for up to 24 months. The position is intended as an opportunity to join IGB to develop and implement original research ideas in ecology, evolutionary biology, microbiology, Ecohydrology, chemistry, behavioral ecology, genomics, inland fisheries and aquaculture. IGB is determined to increase the proportion of women in science, and particularly encourages female scientists to apply. The next application deadline is 01 October 2022. World Academy of Sciences — Fellowships for Research and Advanced Training

TWAS offers fellowships to young scientists in developing countries to enable them to spend three to 12 months at a research institution in a developing country other than their own. The purpose of these fellowships is to enhance the research capacity of promising scientists and to foster links for further collaboration. Costs are shared between TWAS and the host institutions. The fellowships are for research and advanced training. There is no age limit. The Africa Platform of Ghent University Association (GAP) welcomes applications for visiting fellows to facilitate and foster academic collaboration between Ghent University Association and academic institutions in Africa. Awardees will spend a minimum period of two weeks at Ghent University or one of the associated University Colleges. The fellowship consists of a grant of €1000, plus one return flight ticket, for a minimum stay of two weeks. The fellowships are aimed at researchers (junior or senior lecturers & professors) who are affiliated with an African higher education or research institution. World Academy of Sciences — Visiting Expert Programme

The TWAS Visiting Expert Programme supports visits of internationally renowned scientists to research institutions located in developing countries, especially least-developed countries. Only persons who have attained international recognition in their fields of science will be considered for support. Nominations of women are particularly welcome. EuroMarine — Scientific Working Groups

EuroMarine funds two Long-Term Scientific Working Groups with a maximum funding of €12,500 each. The aim of the working groups is to provide the EuroMarine community with recommendations on how to best contribute to the international and European initiatives for restoring and sustainably exploiting the oceans as well as to advance the research on emerging topics related to marine sciences. Proposals should involve at least three full Member Organizations of EuroMarine, from at least two different countries.
