The Locally Led Development Initiative seeks to increase sustainability and impact in the areas of regional environmental and sustainable growth; women’s empowerment, and climate change. Concept notes should propose programs implemented in two or more of the following Amazon Basin countries: Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, Guyana, Peru, and Suriname. Brevard Zoo — Grants for Wildlife Conservation
The Brevard Zoo Conservation Fund supports projects that incorporate the community, education and wildlife conservation. The Fund is sustained through the Quarters for Conservation program which is a small surcharge from each general admission to the zoo. Each year, four wildlife conservation organizations are highlighted for an entire year at the Quarters for Conservation voting station. The four organizations selected will receive US$25 thousand, plus bonus donations based on guest voting. Applicants must be a non-profit wildlife conservation organization. Mozilla Technology Fund — AI and Environmental Justice
The Mozilla Technology Fund seeks to fund open source projects at the intersection of environmental justice and AI which are making a positive impact in ecosystems and human communities. Mozilla is interested in convening technical projects that have a firm grounding in environmental and climate justice, sustainability, and ecology. The Climate Gender Equity Fund (CGEF) aims to increase access to finance for community-based organizations that advances gender equitable climate action. The Fund seeks climate- and gender-smart fund managers and entrepreneur networks aiming to unlock capital for long-term and systemic change. Organizations may propose to use grant funding for a variety of purposes including building their own capacity to provide gender-smart and gender transformative climate finance. Earth Journalism Network — Media Grants to Investigate Environmental Crimes
The Earth Journalism Network (EJN) awards grants to media outlets in Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda and South Sudan looking to investigate environmental crimes. The selected East African media houses will be expected to conceptualize, propose and lead the project in collaboration with a media outlet in Asia. International Development Research Centre — Innovative Veterinary Solutions for Antimicrobial Resistance
Innovative Veterinary Solutions for Antimicrobial Resistance supports research that will identify and develop prophylactic and therapeutic innovative veterinary solutions while reducing the use of antimicrobials in ruminants and aquaculture operations in low- and middle-income countries. These solutions should target the prevention and control of bacterial infectious diseases. A series of grants of up to CA$1.6 million will be issued. Critical Ecosystem Partnership Fund — Biodiversity Conservation in Madagascar and the Indian Ocean Islands (Madagascar)
The Critical Ecosystem Partnership Fund (CEPF) seeks to empower communities and civil society in Madagascar to implement actions to improve the resilience of species, ecosystems and human populations to climate changes. CEPF intends to make small grants of up to US$50 thousand in support of strengthening the capacity of local communities and civil society at regional and local levels to enhance adaptive capacity and reduce exposure to climate change risks, and supporting research and ensure the dissemination of results for the promotion and improvement of knowledge on ecosystem-based adaptation actions. Pôle International Francophone des Gestionnaires de Sites Patrimoniaux — International Training in Sustainable Heritage Site Management
The French-speaking International Pole of the Great Sites Network of France (RGSF) invites applications for the 9th edition of the Intensive International Training “Building the Future of Heritage Sites together: Developing and Implementing Sustainable Management”. The training is intended for francophone managers working on natural or cultural heritage sites who wish to improve their professional practice. The workshop will be held in Bibracte-Morvan des Sommets (France) in June/July 2024. The program does not offer direct financial support but candidates from emerging countries will receive support in their search for a scholarship(s), provided that a local or national administration of the applicant’s home state agrees to finance at least part of the expenses. EUTOPIA European University — Science and Innovation Fellowships Program
The EUTOPIA Science and Innovation Fellowship Program (EUTOPIA-SIF) aims to enhance the research potential and career perspectives of young researchers from around the world. EUTOPIA-SIF will select 16 post-doctoral fellows on the basis of an individual research project for a 24-month post-doctoral contract at one of the EUTOPIA universities. Candidates are invited to submit research projects in one of the five key research areas, including sustainability (energy, circular economy, mobility, urban planning, material heritage, water management).
