The Collaborative Partnership on Forests (CPF) gives the Wangari Maathai Award to one extraordinary individual for having improved their forests and the lives of people who depend on them. Eligible projects include conservation, restoration, and sustainable management of forests and raising awareness in support of local communities, rural livelihoods, and the environment. The Embassy of Finland seeks applications from local Ukrainian NGOs for projects to be funded by the Local Cooperation Fund (LCF). The project should focus on energy and environment; or education and training. The total amount to be disbursed to the selected projects is €500 thousand. Earth Journalism Network — Reporting on Fisheries in Central America
Earth Journalism Network (EJN) holds a workshop on fisheries journalism in Belize (April 2024) to equip journalists with the skills necessary to report on the protection and sustainable management of fisheries in the Mesoamerican Reef region. EJN will cover airfare for journalists selected from Honduras, Mexico, and Guatemala. All participating journalists will receive a stipend for food and other incidental expenses.
