TotalEnergies — Support for Young African Entrepreneurs

The Startupper Challenge by TotalEnergies supports young African entrepreneurs to innovate and bring their projects to reality in their country of application. Winners will receive financial support to develop their startup or business idea. Business owners of startups under 3 years old with a positive impact on their communities or the planet can participate. The challenge is open to young entrepreneurs between the ages of 18 and 35. Royal Society of Biology — Photography Competition

The Royal Society of Biology invites amateurs to submit photographs that explore the profound changes occurring across the planet, highlighting the resilience and adaptability of life in response to environmental changes, human intervention, and scientific innovation. The winners receive cash prizes of up to £1,000. This competition is open to amateur photographers both in and outside of the UK. The deadline to submit photographs is 20 June 2024. Climate Tracker — Scholarship to Cover the COP16 on Biodiversity

Climate Tracker supports journalists from Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Panama, and Peru to cover in person or virtually the COP16 on Biodiversity in Colombia (October/November 2024). Climate Tracker will select six journalists for travel to Colombia, to cover COP16 in person. European Climate Pact — Photo Competition

The European Climate Pact photo competition aims to showcase climate action. Photos should capture a climate-friendly daily routine, climate action, or a climate solution. The competition is open to everyone. 10 winners will receive an invite to the Climate Pact annual event in Brussels in 2025, with travel and accommodation covered. World Food Forum — Hackathon on Food Waste

The Global Youth Hackathon on Food Waste seeks passionate individuals who develop innovative, community-based solutions to combat food waste. Participants will receive mentorship and refine their proposals. Finalists will showcase their proposals and compete for the chance to win US$ 3,500. The application deadline is 30 June 2024. Earthna Center for a Sustainable Future (Earthna) seeks applications for the Earthna Prize aimed at celebrating and supporting projects that are working towards the preservation of ancestral knowledge and cultural heritage in addressing contemporary environmental challenges. The Prize will support work in the following areas: water resource management; food security; sustainable urbanism; and stewardship. World Academy of Sciences — Samira Omar Innovation for Sustainability Award

The Samira Omar Innovation for Sustainability Prize recognizes woman scientists from least-developed countries with scientific achievements in clean and renewable energy; sustainable agriculture and agro-biodiversity; plastic pollution and microplastics, water purification and sanitation, climate change, waste management, biodiversity conservation, and other themes related to sustainability. The winner will receive a cash award of US$4 thousand. Candidates should be working and living in an LDC country for at least two years prior to nomination. European Commission — Agro-Forestry for Timor-Leste

The European Commission launches a call for proposals to promote green development and climate action in Timor-Leste. The objective of this call is to improve a climate change-resilient agro-forestry sector, contribute to the diversification of the Timorese economy, and increase food and income security. Applicants may request between €400 thousand and €2.6 million. Eligibility extends to non-profit organizations based in Timor-Leste. The deadline for submission of concept notes is 01 July 2024.
