Innovations Against Poverty — Matching Grants

Innovations Against Poverty Challenge Fund offers matching grants ranging from €50 thousand to €200 thousand to businesses ready to scale their inclusive innovations. IAP also offers tailored non-financial support. Applying businesses must operate in Cambodia, Ethiopia, Uganda, or Zambia, and must be able to co-invest at least 51% of the total project cost, either through cash or in-kind contributions. Vienna Biocenter — Summer School

The Vienna Biocenter Summer School provides undergraduate students with the opportunity to work side by side with leading researchers in a dynamic scientific environment. Each fellow will be allocated a faculty member, with whom they will work closely. The research project will focus on a current topic in the allocated lab. Selected fellows receive free student accommodation, a stipend of €1400 euros, medical insurance, and other benefits. The Vienna Biocenter welcomes applications from students from all around the world who are undergraduates/master students and have completed at least two years of university study in a Life Sciences related study. RECOFTC — Forest Landscape Governance in Southeast Asia

Explore invites researchers from research institutes and universities in Southeast Asia to submit research proposals on forest landscape governance. Explore will award grants to support up to three research projects. Each grant will range from US$80 thousand to US$83 thousand and will fund research for 18 to 24 months. Grantees will also receive mentorship from scientific experts throughout the project implementation phase. The call for proposals is open to professors, senior scientists, and postdoctoral researchers affiliated with universities and think tanks/research institutes in Southeast Asia. Biomimicry Institute — Youth Design Challenge 2025

The Biomimicry Youth Design Challenge (YDC) is a project-based learning experience for middle and high school teams. Participants are asked to design bio-inspired ideas that can provide solutions to the climate crisis. The Youth Design Challenge follows an academic calendar which means that teachers can teach the biomimicry project at any time. The challenge is open to schools from all around the world (US equivalent grades 6th-12th). Schools have to register teams that consist of up to eight student team members and an official teacher coach. Each team has the chance to win multiple prizes. New Earth Foundation — Innovative Environmental Initiatives

The New Earth Foundation (NEF) seeks Letter of Inquiries (LOIs) to fund innovative environmental initiatives that are working to help eliminate pollution and save the planet’s ecosystems, and community projects that create models of social sustainability. Past projects include gardening and building houses in earthquake-impacted regions, using solar equipment to provide clean water to poor communities, planting trees for clean air, and many others. NEF only funds 501(c)(3) organizations. Applicants from outside the US may apply through a fiscal sponsor. Letters of Inquiry can be sent at any time during the year. These letters are reviewed twice a year and applicants that fit the requirements will receive the invitation to submit a full grant application. Ernest Kleinwort Charitable Trust — Medium Grants for Conservation 2025

The Ernest Kleinwort Charitable Trust makes grants to charities working in the area of wildlife and environmental conservation in the UK and internationally. The international grants are primarily for conservation projects in the developing world. The applying organization has to be a charity registered in the UK. Applicants may request medium grants (up to £10 thousand). Earth Journalism Network — Media Grants Amazon

The Earth Journalism Network (EJN) organizational grants to media outlets, NGOs, academic institutions, and other interested groups to support media and journalism activities related to environmental crimes in the Amazon Region in Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, and Peru. Interested applicants should propose activities for the training of Amazonian journalists and communicators and for supporting the production of journalistic reports on environmental crimes. EJN expects to award grants of US$5,000 to US$10 thousand. Media organizations, networks of journalists and/or communicators, universities, and journalistic institutions focusing on environmental crimes reporting in the Amazon region are invited to apply. Campus France — Research Cooperation between France and Morocco

Partenariats Hubert Curien (PHC) Toubkal supports research cooperation between France and Morocco. PHC Toubkal finances the mobility of researchers and doctoral students, exchanges between researchers, training initiatives, and innovative joint research proposals. Eligible fields of research include environmental sciences, agronomic, and veterinary sciences. The average funding amount is €30 thousand for three years. Royal Society — Prize for African Scientists

The Royal Society Africa Prize recognizes research scientists based in Africa who are making an innovative contribution to the sciences. This year, the Society is encouraging nominations of joint collaborations, groups, or teams for almost all its medals to better represent how contemporary science is undertaken. World Food Forum — Young Scientists Group

The World Food Forum accepts applications for the Young Scientists Group (YSG). YSG provides scientific evidence and technical knowledge to the various initiatives of the WFF, including, but not limited to, the Youth Assembly, Innovation Lab, and Education Program. Participants of the YSG play a critical role in providing the WFF with the necessary science-based direction and have a formal scientific opinion related to documents, statements, or action-oriented proposals generated by the participating youth.
