Earth Journalism Network — Text Reports on Renewable Energy in India

The Earth Journalism Network (EJN) supports communicators in the production of  in-depth reports on various aspects of the transition to renewable energy in India. EJN welcomes pitches on the progress of the transition towards clean energy, the challenges ahead and how to overcome them, and scalable and replicable solutions that empower communities through decentralized renewable energy initiatives. Communicators based in India are eligible to apply. Selected applicants will be provided support of up to Rs 1 lakh each. The application deadline is 17 February 2025. Link

HudsonAlpha — AgTech Accelerator

The HudsonAlpha AgTech Accelerator connects cutting-edge, agriculture technology startups to the coaching, capital, and connections they need to build and grow their businesses. Applications are welcome from startups anywhere in the world and innovating in any area of agriculture. Each startup receives a cash investment of US$100 thousand, office space (in Huntsville, USA), and access to a global network of investors. The application deadline is 23 February 2025. West African Research Association — Residency Fellowship

The West African Research Association, (WARA) offers Residencies for WARA member institutions to host a West African Scholar on their campus. Each residency will last 4-8 weeks. WARA will pay the round-trip travel costs of the selected scholar as well as a stipend of US$3500 to help cover meals and local transportation costs. Earth Journalism Network — Virtual Media Workshop on Covering Great Apes and One Health

The Earth Journalism Network (EJN) hosts a virtual media workshop for environmental journalists in range countries in Africa seeking to report on the threats faced by great apes, particularly the impact of disease and other health considerations, as well as conservation strategies to protect these species and their habitats. Journalists will learn from researchers, policymakers and local communities working in the field of great ape conservation. Participants who attend all three days of the workshop will also be eligible to apply for a story grant to produce journalistic work following the workshop. Swedish Institute — Scholarships for Global Professionals

The Swedish Institute (SI) provides fully-funded international scholarships for master’s studies in Sweden. The scholarship for global professionals aims to develop future global leaders who will contribute to the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and contribute to positive and sustainable development in their home countries. The scholarship is intended for full-time one-year or two-year master’s programs. SI fully covers tuition fees and makes regular payments of SEK12 thousand to cover living expenses throughout the scholarship. The application portal will close on 26 February 2025. Earth Journalism Network — Story Grants Marine Environment

The Earth Journalism Network (EJN) offers story grants to support the production of in-depth reporting on current and emerging marine issues in the Adriatic Sea, with a focus on the Western Balkans. Applications from Western Balkan countries that border the Adriatic Sea are welcome (i.e. Croatia, Slovenia, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Montenegro, Albania). Journalists from inland Balkan countries such as Serbia, Kosovo and North Macedonia are also eligible to apply if their stories can be directly tied to the Adriatic Sea. The Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) invites professional and amateur photographers aged 18 and above to participate in the International Year of Camelids Photo Contest. The Canada Fund for Local Initiatives invites proposals that meet the needs of local communities in The Gambia. The priorities under this call include women’s economic rights, decent jobs and entrepreneurship, and investing in the poorest and most vulnerable (which may include agriculture or aquaculture projects).
