Cyprus-CyprusAid
Grants for micro-projects of Cypriot NGOs, and scholarships for applicants from developing countries to study in Cyprus
Principal Office: Cyprus
The Cyprus Planning Bureau is the administrator of the country’s development cooperation through CyprusAid.
The aid program in Cyprus began in 2005. Cyprus does not currently have a mechanism for project implementation on the ground. Thus it implements its projects of bilateral development in collaboration other European development agencies, and with international organizations (i.e., mainly the United Nations agencies).
Program areas at CyprusAid include infrastructure development and environment (i.e., climate change, dams, sewage systems, irrigation systems, forest management, solar energy, etc.) — among others.
Grant Programs for Agriculture, Energy, Environment, Natural Resources
International Scholarships. CyprusAid funds scholarships for academic studies in Cyprus through the Technical Assistance Scheme. The funding supports degree programs as well as short-term training in subject areas that include tourism, forestry, and others.
APPLICATION: Interested persons in eligible countries should seek information from the Cyprus diplomatic missions.
Note: The program is temporarily suspended at the time of this update.
