World Habitat Awards. World Habitat defines the term “habitat” to include aspects such as energy saving, water conservation, use of natural materials, effective waste management, resilience to natural disasters, and other environmental aspects.
The competition for the awards is open to individuals and organizations of all types (e.g., government, academic, research, NGO, business, international agency) on a global basis.
Each year, an award of £10 thousand is presented to each of two winners. Usually, one winner represents a project in the global South, and the other a project in the global North.
