The City Climate Finance Gap Fund (Gap Fund) is an international climate initiative, implemented by the World Bank (WB) and European Investment Bank (EIB), in partnership with the Deutsche Gesellschaft für internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), with focus on urban climate action.
The Fund aims to help bridge the urban financing gap to achieve low carbon, climate resilient urbanization pathways.

Gap Fund. The Gap Fund supports climate-smart urban planning and early-stage project preparation with the aim to help cities in developing and emerging countries to turn their low-carbon, climate-resilient ideas into strategies and finance-ready projects.
The Gap Fund supports cities and local governments in preparing and prioritizing climate-smart plans and investments with the goal of attracting more financing and support for implementation.
APPLICATION: Cities and local authorities can apply by submitting an Expression of Interest. Selected proposals will receive technical assistance from one of the implementing partners.
