African Institute for Mathematical Sciences — Fellowships for Women in Climate Change Science

The African Institute for Mathematical Sciences Next Einstein Initiative announces a fellowship program for Women in Climate Change Science (WiCCS). Between 2017 and 2021, about four fellowships will be awarded each year to outstanding female scientists based anywhere in the world. Each WiCCS fellow can apply for up to US$35 thousand to carry out, at an African host institution, an innovative project that has the potential to contribute significantly to solving challenges related to climate change. Preference will be given to applicants proposing projects that make substantive use of mathematical sciences for modelling climate change, quantifying its impacts, evaluating the cost-effectiveness of interventions, designing experiments, analysing data, or other relevant activities. Female applicants should possess a doctoral degree in a relevant quantitative discipline. The application deadline is 27 October 2017. Learn more
