New Leaders Initiative — Youth Awards for Environmental Leadership

The Brower Youth Awards for Environmental Leadership honors and recognizes the leadership efforts of young people who are working for the protection of the planet. Recipients will receive a US$3,000 cash prize, a professionally produced short film about their work, and flight and lodging accommodations for a weeklong trip to the San Francisco Bay Area. Youth environmental change leaders ages 13 to 22 living in North America (including Mexico, Canada, and some Caribbean Islands) are encouraged to apply. Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit — Africa Fellowship Program

AFRIKA KOMMT! is a fellowship program that provides young African professionals with a one-year career transformational experience at leading German companies. Participants receive management training followed by an 8-month fellowship in a partner company. The monthly allowance is € 750. The initiative is open to citizens from all countries in Africa. Earth Journalism Network — Story Grants Bay of Bengal Coast

The Earth Journalism Network (EJN)offers support to produce in-depth reports on climate impacts in the Bay of Bengal that are hard to quantify and not usually accounted for by policymakers. Selected applicants will be provided support of up to INR 90,000 or BDT 1.25 lakh each and 1:1 editorial mentorship to produce rigorous and impactful reports. Communicators reporting from coastal Bangladesh and coastal areas of India are eligible to apply. Fondation Egis — Climate Challenge

Fondation Egis invites students and young graduates from around the world to submit innovative solutions on the topic: adapting and living together in the face of climate risks. Participants gain access to a range of support to help shape their projects, e.g., workshops and mentors. The top three teams will be awarded €1,000 per team member, along with additional funding to help bring their projects to life during the first 6 months. Projects must be submitted by 24 March 2025. French-African Foundation — Young Leaders 2025

The French-African Foundation invites applications for Young Leaders 2025. The program recognizes and supports young leaders to become true agents of change in relation to global challenges. Candidates must be between 28 and 40 years old and have French nationality or the nationality of an African country. Successful candidates will spend five days in France, five days in Africa, engage in high-level meetings and receive training and mentorship. Flights and accommodation will be provided. Earth Journalism Network — Biodiversity Media Grants 2025

The Earth Journalism Network (EJN) offers Biodiversity Media Grants to support journalism networks and media organizations throughout the world in increasing the capacity of media to cover critical issues of conservation and biodiversity. EJN is especially interested in projects that focus on conservation in high-biodiversity regions of the world such as the Global South. Preference will be given to applications from or affiliated with professional journalists, media organizations, journalism schools, and the like. However, EJN will also consider applications by NGOs or environmental groups looking to build the capacity of journalists to cover conservation issues. Tokyo University of Agriculture — Scholarship for Dissertation Doctorate Program

The Dissertation Doctorate Program for Agriculture and Natural Resources aims to contribute to the enhancement of agricultural research and development in Southeast Asia. The scholarship provides one slot annually for a three-year graduate program leading to a Dissertation Doctorate at Tokyo NODAI. The scholarship is open only to nationals of Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Timor Leste and Vietnam. Coimbra Group of Universities — Scholarships for Professional Mobility

The Coimbra Group is an association of long-established European universities committed to creating academic and cultural ties to promote internationalization. Towards this end, the Coimbra Group offers scholarships to encourage short-term professional and academic experiences in Europe by applicants from Africa, Latin America, and the European Neighborhood. Covering Climate Now — Journalism Awards

The Covering Climate Now Journalism Awards honors excellent reporting on critical dimensions of the climate story. Submissions are accepted from journalists everywhere, representing news outlets big and small, as well as freelancers. Outlets may also submit several entries by different journalists. Stories must be about climate change, not just the environment. Environmental stories that do significantly consider climate implications, such as the effects of deforestation on carbon storage, are eligible for submission. International Center for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology — Research Mobility Grants

The ICGEB SMART Fellowship program provides fellowships to scientists in the early stage of their career wishing to spend between 3 and 9 months at a research institution in an ICGEB Member State other than their own. The stipend ranges from US$ 800 to US$1,500 per month. SMART Fellowships are intended to promote collaboration among researchers. Applications are welcome in any area of the Life Sciences.
