France Libertés – Danielle Mitterrand Foundation — Water and Climate

France Libertés – Danielle Mitterrand Foundation launches a call for proposals about the positive impact people can have on the link between the cycle of water and climate. The Foundation will support projects which work to return water to the earth to restore the climate, in order to guarantee water access and to encourage its sustainable management. For this purpose, grants of between € 8 thousand and €12 thousand can be requested. Any non-profit organisation (including local communities, universities, research institutes, and trade unions) is welcome to apply. Applications have to be submitted by 26 October 2018. Strategic Support Program for Scientific Research — Call for Research Projects in Agriculture and Health

The Strategic Support Program for Scientific Research (PASRES) of Côte d’Ivoire and the Uganda Council for Science and Technology (UNCST) launch a call for joint research projects in the fields of Agriculture and Health. Proposals for scientific research should focus on agriculture and plant health (crop diseases, livestock and fisheries) or Environment and Human Health (resilience of populations to the effects of climate change). Projects will receive US$50 thousand in funding for one year. To be eligible, research partnerships must involve researchers from both countries (one from Côte d’Ivoire and the other from Uganda). Technical Centre for Agricultural and Rural Cooperation — Pacific AgriHack Lab 2018

The Technical Centre for Agricultural and Rural Cooperation (CTA) and the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) seek innovations that have to potential to overcome challenges in agriculture, agribusiness and aquaculture. The AgriHack Lab aims to address the limited support for upscaling the use of novel and existing ICT platforms/applications or developing prototypes for farmers (especially smallholders and fisheries) and small and medium enterprises. Three selected winners will receive €5 thousand to implement their solution. The competition is open to ICT experts, tech savvy young professionals, farmers and/or agri-entrepreneurs operating in Fiji, Kiribati, Marshall Islands, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Tonga, or Vanuatu. IHE Delft Institute for Water Education — Research for Development Proposals

IHE Delft announces a call for “Research for Development Proposals led by Institutes from Developing Countries”. The purpose of this call is to encourage collaboration between researchers from developing countries and to stimulate problem-orientated research to support the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) related to water and development. Projects may apply for €100 thousand and should address one or more of the following themes: (i) Gender and inclusiveness in relation to water and development; (ii) Efficient water management, particularly in the agricultural sector; (iii) Improved catchment area management and safe deltas; (iv) Access to clean drinking water and basic sanitation; (v) Water diplomacy. The Technical Centre for Agricultural and Rural Cooperation (CTA) calls for proposals to support the implementation blockchain technology to support activities and businesses in the agri-food sector in Africa, the Caribbean and Pacific countries. École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne — Seed Money for Projects 2019

EPFL’s seed money grants are allocated to promote the creation and launch of new projects of scientific cooperation with partners from emerging and developing countries. The problems addressed in the proposal must be related to development issues and to the main challenges faced by the respective emerging and developing country. Project categories may include one or more areas of interest relevant to the Terra Viva Grants Directory. The maximum funding per project is CHF 20 thousand per year.
