Earth Journalism Network — Bay of Bengal Organizational Grants
The Earth Journalism Network (EJN) offers Organizational Grant to support the creation of media organizations in the Bay of Bengal region, that aim to improve the quantity and quality of information about climate change. Particular attention should be given to the adaptation needs, challenges, efforts and success stories of vulnerable and marginalized communities. Preference will be given to applications from or affiliated with professional journalists, media organizations, journalism schools, and the like. However, EJN will also consider applications by NGOs or environmental groups looking to build the capacity of journalists to cover conservation issues. The Program on Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC) of the Lincoln Institute of Land Policy invites applications for its 2018 thesis fellowships. Fellowships will be awarded in the amounts of US$5 thousand for master’s theses, and US$10 thousand for doctoral theses, to students at universities in Latin America and North America who are in the mid to final stages of their thesis work. Critical Ecosystem Partnership Fund — Conservation in the Eastern Afromontane Biodiversity Hotspot
The CEPF seeks letters of inquiry for small grants (less than US$50 thousand) to conserve biodiversity in the Eastern Afromontane Hotspot. The conservation priorities are stated in the announcement for Strategic Directions 1, 2, and 3 in Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania, and Uganda. Eligibility for funding extends to NGOs, community groups, universities, private enterprises, and other applicants from civil society. Government enterprises and institutions may be eligible if they can meet special criteria. All applicants are encouraged to discuss proposal ideas prior to submitting. World Academy of Sciences — Solar Radiation Management
The TWAS-SRMGI DECIMALS fund has been set up to provide grants to small research teams in developing countries, allowing them to analyze the impacts that SRM might have in their regions. The programme provides support for research projects in solar radiation management, climate change, agriculture, natural disasters, and climate impact analysis. The European Union seeks proposals for the program “CSO-RISE – Civil Society Organisations in Research and Innovation for Sustainable Development” to foster the initiatives of the civil society organisations in their capacities to address economic, social and climate-resilient issues through innovative interventions. United States Government — Combat Wildlife Trafficking in Big Cats Species
The United States Department of State seeks to reduce wildlife trafficking and environmental crimes. Therefore, applications are invited from qualified non-governmental organizations (NGOs), educational institutions, and other non-profit qualified organizations for a grant to implement a program to “Combat Trafficking in High Value Wildlife Products from Big Cats”. For the purposes of this NOFO, “big cats” include the following species and all of their subspecies: cheetah (Acinonyx jubatus), jaguar (Panthera onca), leopard (Panthera pardus), lion (Panthera leo), puma (Puma concolor), snow leopard (Panthera uncia), and tiger (Panthera tigris).
