Connecting Dreams Foundation — Global Changemaker Fellowship
The Connecting Dreams Foundation accepts proposals for the Global Changemaker Fellowship. The Fellowship is a 6-month virtual program intended to develop Social Change Leaders who are focused on handling challenges in their local communities. Fellows participate in workshops and receive training and mentorship while implementing their local initiative. The program is intended for young leaders (aged 20-35) with an entrepreneurial mindset and approach towards solving community-centric challenges. Thomson Reuters Foundation — Communicating Just Transition Issues
The Thomson Reuters Foundation offers a free communication course for organizations in India, Bangladesh, and Brazil working in communication and journalism. The online course will consist of a series of training in which participants will receive training in parallel with climate journalists. Those who make the shortlist will have an opportunity to pitch their story ideas to the lead trainers for a chance to receive a £300 story grant. Irish Aid offers scholarships to qualified candidates from Sub-Saharan Africa, Southeast Asia, and Latin America to undertake Master’s degrees at universities and colleges in Ireland. Awards are made in the fields of development studies, rural development, biodiversity conservation, and many other subject areas relevant to the Terra Viva Grants Directory. The Global HEY Climate Fund aims to assist three young climate activists with their projects. The selected projects will receive US$5 thousand each. Korea International Water Week — World Water Challenge 2024
The World Water Challenge is an international contest for water solutions. The Korea International Water Week (KIWW) aims to discover imminent water problems and to find feasible solutions. Participants are asked to select a water challenge (identified in the call) and submit their solution. The total prize amount for the World Water Challenge 2024 is KRW 10 million (approx. US$7,600). Winners will have the chance to be invited to the WWCH showcase during the KIWW 2024 and/or the World Water Forum. Individuals or organizations are welcome to participate. Institute for Global Environmental Strategies — Satoyama Development Mechanism 2024
The IGES, the United Nations University Institute for Advanced Studies on Sustainability, and Japan’s Ministry of the Environment announce the latest round of sub-grants under the Satoyama Development Mechanism. The International Partnership for the Satoyama Initiative (IPSI) promotes the sustainable use of Socio-Ecological Production Landscapes and Seascapes. Grants are up to US$20 thousand for field projects; research; collaboration activities; and capacity building and outreach that link ecosystems and community systems on a sustainable basis. Women for the Environment — Africa Leadership Program
Applications are open for the 2025 Women for the Environment (WE) Africa’s Leadership Program. Women for the Environment is a mentorship program for women leaders who focus on conservation and environmental protection in Africa. The program includes monthly online sessions and two in-person retreats for intensive community-building and personal growth. Eligibility extends to African nationals with a minimum of 15 years of experience working in the environmental space in the government, NGO, or private sector. The iF Social Impact Prize aims to publish and support design projects that contribute to solving urgent challenges and help to improve living conditions in the developing world. Nippon Foundation — Ocean Fellowship
The United Nations–Nippon Foundation Fellowship provides government officials and other mid-level professionals from developing states with advanced training on ocean affairs and the law of the sea. The 9-month fellowship program is composed of two consecutive phases which provide fellows with advanced and customized research and training opportunities. Fellows will receive a stipend each month during their fellowship. The stipend is intended to cover the cost of lodging, boarding, and other essentials such as local transport. In addition to the stipend, fellows will be provided with a book allowance of US$100 per month. Candidates must be between the ages of 25 and 40.
