Nagao Natural Environment Foundation — Nature Conservation Scholarships for Students from Asia

The NEF Scholarship Scheme financially supports university students from Southeast Asia who study nature conservation (e.g., biology, botany, forestry, etc) at selected universities and institutes in Indonesia, Myanmar, Vietnam, Lao PDR, Cambodia, and the Philippines. Furthermore, scholarship recipients can attend the NEF Student International Workshop. Participants attend lectures, present their own research, visit research facilities, and practice research skills in the field related to nature conservation. Eligibility requirements vary by country, therefore, interested applicants are required to contact the NEF local counterpart representative in their country for application guidelines. Institute of International Education — Scholar Rescue Fund

The IIE Scholar Rescue Fund (IIE-SRF) provides fellowships for professors, researchers, and public intellectuals who face threats to their lives and careers in their home countries. Fellows will receive temporary academic positions at institutions of higher learning anywhere in the world where they can continue their work in safety. Professors, senior researchers, and public intellectuals from any country, academic field, or discipline may qualify. Applications from women and members of ethnic, racial, cultural, or religious minority groups, or those otherwise underrepresented in their fields, are especially encouraged. Ban Ki-moon Centre for Global Citizens — Youth AgriChampions 2024

The Ban Ki-moon Centre for Global Citizens (BKMC) hosts the 3rd edition of the Youth AgriChampions – a Peer2Peer workshop series on climate adaptation in agriculture. The workshop is designed for youth grassroots voices in smallholder farming and agricultural entrepreneurship in Ghana, Kenya, Nigeria, Rwanda, and Zambia. Participants are invited to share their on-the-ground experience with adapting their practices to climate change. Interested participants have to submit their application before 20 May 2024. German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy — Women in Renewable Energy

The mentoring program “Energising Women to Advance the Energy Transition” aims to address the gender gap in the renewables sector. The program offers mentoring, online courses, networking, and peer-to-peer exchange. The deadline for applications is 24 May 2024. Women in Energy

Canada Fund for Local Initiatives — Community Projects in Jamaica

The Canada Fund for Local Initiatives (CFLI) invites proposals that meet the needs of local communities in Jamaica. CFLI provides funding to projects that create income-earning opportunities for women (which may also include rural agricultural development), as well as environment, and climate action focusing on adaptation and mitigation. The average contribution is C$10 thousand to C$25 thousand per project. Eligibility extends to not-for-profit local, national, or community-based organizations. The Bridge International — Funding for Social Entrepreneurs

The Bridge International is a non-profit organization that works as an online crowdfunding platform for social entrepreneurs in Asia and Africa. Bridge International aims to support local entrepreneurs to be self-reliant and financially sustainable in their operations while they create social impact within the community. Applications for the recruiting program Global Bridging Fund (GBF) are open. Selected partners will benefit from seed funds up to US$5,000 as a 0% interest loan, connections to other social enterprises, and potential partnerships with global institutions and corporations. Pacific Community — Photo Contest

The Pacific Community (SPC) launches a photo contest. Submissions must illustrate climate change, marine environments, fisheries, and/or aquaculture in the Pacific Islands region. SPC invites residents of the Pacific Islands region to submit entries. The first prize is US$1,000 worth of photography equipment. Submissions are due on 31 May 2024. Know more

United Nations Development Programme — ASEAN Blue Innovation Challenge

The United Nations Development Program aims to foster the development of the blue economy in ASEAN countries and Timor-Leste. The ASEAN Blue Innovation Challenge seeks to identify, finance, and support innovative solutions geared towards the conservation and sustainable management of marine ecosystems, coastal areas, and freshwater resources. UK Royal Society — International Exchanges 2024

The Royal Society’s International Exchanges Scheme makes grants to scientists based in the UK who seek new international collaborations. The scheme covers all areas of life and physical sciences, except clinical medicine. Applicants may request up to £12 thousand for travel to/from all countries outside the UK. Earth Journalism Network — Media Partnership Reporting Fellowships to COP29

The Climate Change Media Partnership announces the COP29 Reporting Fellowship Program for journalists from low- and middle-income countries interested in covering the 29th United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP29).
