National Geographic Society — Buffett Awards for Conservation Leadership in Africa and Latin America 2022
The National Geographic Society, in partnership with the Howard G. Buffett Foundation, welcomes nominations for the 2022 Buffett Awards for Leadership in Conservation. There is one annual award for Africa, and another for Latin America. UNESCO Man and the Biosphere Program — Young Scientist Awards 2022
UNESCO’s Man and the Biosphere (MAB) program makes grants for conservation research through its Young Scientists Awards. The Award targets young researchers (not older than 35 years) carrying out interdisciplinary research on ecosystems, natural resources and biodiversity. Priority is given to projects carried out in the world’s biosphere reserves. Awards are up to US$5 thousand. The deadline for applications (English, French) is 14 January 2022. World Water Council — World Water Prize 2022
The World Water Council invites applications for the 2022 King Hassan II Great World Water Prize. The prize is intended for projects that focus on the management and development of water resources. For this edition, the theme chosen is “Water security in territories for sustainable development and food security.” The Prize will be awarded for the sixth time during the 9th World Water Forum in Dakar, Senegal. Nominations can be for a person, a group of persons, or an organization. The Prize can be awarded for either an enduring work, or the performance of an outstanding one-off achievement. BRICS STI Framework Programme — Call for Research and Development Projects
The BRICS STI Framework Programme calls for proposals to promote research cooperation among partner institutions in Brazil, China, India, Russia, and South Africa. Project proposals should consist of partners in at least three BRICS countries for research on preventing and monitoring natural disasters; water resources and pollution management; new and renewable energy; and other themes. The US-Russia Social Expertise Exchange (SEE) supports professionals and entrepreneurs in Russia and the USA to engage in a meaningful exchange of ideas and best practices. Tzedek — Grassroots Projects in Africa and South Asia
Tzedek is a Jewish charitable organization aiming to reduce extreme poverty, focusing on grassroots projects in Africa and Asia. Tzedek supports local NGOs with the aim to develop partnerships to secure livelihoods of the poorest and most disadvantaged. The Overseas Project Team (OPT) operates Tzedek’s Partnership Project Grants scheme. Projects funded in the past include vocational training, micro-credit, livelihood startups, livestock, agriculture and more. The OPT meets 4-6 times a year.
