The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TUBITAK) awards research fellowships to international highly qualified PhD students and young postdoctoral researchers. Applicants should be non-Turkish citizens who are age 35 or younger. Preference is for candidates who have the potential to contribute to Turkey’s international cooperation in scientific and technological development. The fields of research collaboration include agricultural sciences, among others. The maximum length of the fellowship is 12 months. SEED is a global partnership founded by UNEP, UNDP, and IUCN to promote eco-enterprises. The program announces its next replicator workshop in Zambia. The replicator workshop of one day introduce motivated individuals to proven business models from various countries. Participants will learn how to adapt them to your individual local context to solve environmental, social and economic challenges. Focus areas are manufacturing, waste management and agriculture. Future entrepreneurs, business owners and NGOs are welcome to apply. The participation in the workshop is free of charge, participants must cover their own transport costs however. The IDRC seeks research proposals that develop innovative veterinary solutions focused on product development to reduce therapeutic and prevent non-therapeutic antimicrobial (AMR) use by farmers in developing countries. Proposals need to demonstrate how the project will involve women in the research team and that they have considered the potential environmental impacts of their activities. Budgets between CAN$ 1-3 million are accepted. To be eligible, at least one of the administering project institutions should be based in a low or middle-income country. The U.S. Bureau of Oceans – Int. Environmental – Scientific (OES) makes cooperative agreements to support fisheries management and governance in U.S. FTA countries. Projects should focus on improving the science-based management of fisheries; monitoring measures to ensure compliance with fisheries regulations; and combating illegal fishing. OES will award one cooperative agreement of up to US$500 thousand or two cooperative agreements of up to US$250 thousand each. The Southeast Asian Regional Centre for Tropical Biology (SEAMEO BIOTROP) makes research grants to improve nutrition and entrepreneurial skills of secondary and primary students in Indonesia through school gardens. All primary, secondary, special education and vocational school teachers in Indonesia can apply for the grant. The applicant can either be an individual teacher or a group of teachers. The European Commission calls for concept notes for the Zimbabwe Agricultural Growth Programme (ZAGP). Proposed projects must contribute to the development of a diversified and efficient agriculture sector that promotes inclusive green economic growth. This call for proposals focuses on Animal Health and Food Safety Systems. The grant requested under this call must be between 3 and 3.6 million. The FAO-EU FLEGT Programme invites applications from governmental institutions, civil society and private sector organizations that contribute to the reduction of illegal logging and strengthen the trade of legal forest products through improved forest governance in Mozambique. DMS offers 4 scholarships to young leaders from Zambia and Ethiopia, who are working in the field of nutrition to deliver nutritional solutions for their communities. The scholarship seeks candidates who develop/implement programs to eliminate post-harvest losses for small holder farmers, among others. Selected fellows will receive financial support that covers tuition fees, living expenses, research, and travel. The Eastern Africa Farmers Federation in partnership with IFAD calls for innovative ideas from rural youth groups in agriculture and agribusiness related enterprises. Young farmers will receive technical support, mentorship, access to potential funders/investors and other partnership opportunities.
