The Global Changemaker Fellowship is a six‑month virtual advancement program that supports social change leaders (aged 13–35) as they scale their community initiatives through workshops, mentorship, and access to a global peer network. The World Federation of Science Journalists invites applications for travel fellowships to attend the World Conference of Science Journalists 2027 (London/September 2027). Fellowships cover travel, visa costs, local transport, up to six nights’ accommodation, and full conference registration; no per diem is included. Eligible applicants are journalists (science journalism need not be their primary role), journalism students, or students in related fields who could not otherwise attend, with priority given to those from lower- and middle-income countries per World Bank classification, though applicants from higher-income countries aren’t automatically excluded if financial need is demonstrated. The Green Earth Action Foundation (GEAF) invites applications for its Ambassador Program 2027, a six-month, fully-funded climate leadership opportunity open to changemakers worldwide. Selected ambassadors design and lead a community-based environmental project, chosen from five thematic areas: forest and biodiversity protection, environmental education and community empowerment, waste reduction and pollution prevention, climate-smart agriculture, and marine and water protection. GEAF provides expert-led capacity building alongside one-to-one mentorship and guided project implementation support. Applicants must be at least 18, demonstrate experience in community outreach and local implementation, communicate fluently in French or English, and commit approximately five to ten hours per week for the full six months. The Environmental Research & Education Foundation (EREF) seeks applications for the Sustainable Solid Waste Management Research Program in North America. Pre-proposals must relate to sustainable solid waste management practices in the topic areas of waste conversion to energy, biological conversion technologies, and recycling, among others. Previously awarded grants have ranged from $15 thousand to over $500 thousand with an average grant size of about $160 thousand for 2 years. There are no restrictions in regard to geographic location. EREF has two deadlines per year with pre-proposals being accepted 15 days prior to the deadline date. George Washington University’s Planet Forward invites enrolled or recently graduated post-secondary students to submit environmental storytelling entries — short video, social video, written story, or multimedia — on topics including food, water, energy, biodiversity, and climate justice. Six winners across categories receive a fully paid trip to Alaska’s Inside Passage with National Geographic-Lindblad Expeditions. The Pulitzer Center invites civil society organizations in the Global South to apply for microgrants supporting civic engagement projects. Eligible projects use at least one published Pulitzer Center story to advance public understanding on one of three focus areas: rainforest degradation and Indigenous rights, ocean health and marine governance, or the intersection of climate and labor, including gender and community resilience. Grants range from US$2,000 to US$4,000. Eligible applicants are grassroots organizations, civil society coalitions, youth movements, and community educators with prior experience running civic engagement activities in the Global South, particularly Africa, Latin America, and Southeast Asia. The Earth Journalism Network (EJN) invites journalists based in Bangladesh to a three-day workshop on reporting non-economic loss and damage (NELD) from climate change. The workshop takes place 27-29 October 2026 in Satkhira. It covers how NELD figures into global climate negotiations and the UN Fund for Responding to Loss and Damage, the differential impacts on women and other vulnerable groups, and how reporting on resilience and adaptation can support solutions; the program includes a field trip. Applicants must be Bangladesh-based journalists across print, online, radio, or television with some prior environmental or climate reporting experience, and must commit to attending all three days.
