The United States Department of State announces the 2022 Young Pacific Leaders TechCamp for Climate Action. The TechCamp will bring young leaders from across the Pacific together with regional and U.S. leaders in the field of climate science and science communication to identify innovative approaches to climate resiliency and mitigation. Applicants must be at least 23 years and have demonstrated professional experience in the field of climate science. Applications will be accepted until 10 August 2022. TechCamp for Climate Action

The Clean Cooking Alliance (CCA) invited applications for the Clean Cooking Women Leaders Award (WLA). The award recognizes women who are advancing clean cooking solutions in emerging markets. Winners will receive a sponsorship to attend the Clean Cooking Forum 2022 in Ghana (October 2022) and a financial sponsorship toward leadership coaching. Applicants may nominate themselves or nominate others who fit the qualification criteria. The deadline for nominations is 14 August 2022. Clean Cooking Women Leaders Award

The BRICS Young Scientist Forum seeks to strengthen existing bilateral and multilateral relations as well as cooperation among its member countries Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa. BRICS invites proposals from young scientists with projects in the thematic areas of biomedicine, low-carbon technology, artificial intelligence, renewable energy, and modern agriculture for the 7th BRICS-YSF Conclave in China. All participants will have the opportunity to attend the activities of the Science Communication Program. The program is open to scientists, engineers, technologists, innovators, science journalists, science professionals and researchers. The Climate Action Champions Network seeks young climate leaders from India, Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Bhutan. The objective of the program is to inspire the South Asian young leaders to champion an ambitious climate action agenda in their respective countries and in the wider Indo-Pacific region. Prospective climate champions between the ages of 18 and 35, who are passionate about climate action, are encouraged to apply. The deadline for submitting applications is 15 July 2022. Know more

The Climate Investment Funds (CIF) finances Nature-based solutions that recognize the interdependence between land use, climate change mitigation and adaptation, and improve the sources of livelihoods of rural communities and Indigenous Peoples. CIF launches the selection process for identifying countries that will receive funding under the Nature, People and Climate Investment program. The Program will allow potential allocation per investment plan of up to approximately US$50 million. Countries that are eligible for Official Development Assistance can apply. ​The Jackson Wild Summit Fellowship is a comprehensive program for storytellers to accelerate their project in development through a series of skill-building workshops, networking events, pitching opportunities and mentorship in Austria (September/October 2022). Projects must include a visual media component and can consist of a wide range of topics including but not limited to environmental justice, climate change, conservation, human-wildlife conflict, etc. The Fellowship is open to all storytellers from around the world. The Greater Mekong Subregion Secretariat invites applications to the Climate Change and Environmental Sustainability Program (CCESP). The program’s six priority themes are climate and disaster resilience, low-carbon transitions, climate-smart landscapes, environmental quality through pollution control and sustainable waste management, digital technology for climate actions and environmental sustainability, and financing low-carbon and climate-resilient infrastructure and technology. The program plans to have 27 demonstrations. Each demonstration project will have a budget of US$40 thousand. The proposals can be developed and submitted by government departments and agencies, civil society organizations and community-based organizations, private sector, as well as academia and research institutes. XPRIZE Carbon Removal, funded by Elon Musk and the Musk Foundation, aims to find solutions that fight climate change and rebalance Earth’s carbon cycle. ‎This four-year global competition invites innovators and teams from anywhere on the planet to create and demonstrate solutions that can pull carbon dioxide directly from the atmosphere or oceans. Any carbon negative solution is eligible: nature-based, direct air capture, oceans, mineralization, etc. The competition will last for 4 years through Earth Day 2025. After one year of competition the judges will review all submissions and award up to 15 Milestone Prizes of $1 million each. After 4 years, judges will select the winners: a single Grand Prize Winner (US$50 million) and 3 runners up (US$30 million). Registration for the prize will remain open through 01 December 2023. ChangemakerXchange launches a global intersectional climate action program that supports the world’s leading climate action changemakers and activists from different regions. In 2022, there will be three in-person summits and a follow-up community and capacity-building program in Europe, MENA, and North America. Applicants must come from or be currently living in one of the eligible countries and be aged 18 – 35. Participants are asked to cover their own transportation costs. ChangemakerXchange will cover all other costs associated with the summit. The deadline for applications is 30 June 2022. Climate Action Summit

The Scotiabank accepts applications for projects that will advance research and leadership in support of global decarbonization efforts. The Net Zero Research Fund (NZRF) seeks partnerships with leading think-tanks and academic institutions that are supporting key sectors in their efforts to decarbonize. Scotiabank will award grants ranging from CA$25 thousand up to CA$100 thousand. To be eligible for funding, partner organizations must be registered not-for-profit or charitable organizations in Canada, the US or Latin America.
