The Dutch Embassy in Dakar seeks to support human rights projects with focus on raising awareness about combating climate change in Senegal and Gambia. The maximum duration of a project is four years. There is no maximum amount for the Embassy’s financial contribution to be requested. The program is aimed at non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and non-profit associations officially recognized in the countries where the activities will be carried out. The Academy of Change is an initiative of the Collaborating Centre for Sustainable Consumption and Production (CSCP), Behavior Change and the International Civil Society Centre (ICSC), funded by the KR Foundation. The training program enables participants to learn more about sustainable behavior change while working and exchanging with peers from all over the world. A focus theme of this training program is climate change, environmental degradation and biodiversity. A group of 40 professionals working for NGOs across the world will be selected for in-person workshops and online activities, networking opportunities and coaching sessions. Climate Tracker invites applications for a journalism workshop in the field of climate change and renewable energy. Submission is open to journalists from Lebanon. Four participants will receive grants to produce an article on the issue of climate change. Journalists have to submit examples of previous journalistic work to apply. Thomson Reuters Foundation and the Asian Development Bank will conduct a five-day online training program on ‘Reporting on Climate Change.’ Please note that this capacity building program is only open to journalists from Nepal. Participants will learn how to identify, research and deliver accurate stories on climate change, its impact on the environment and the lives of ordinary people. Experienced trainers will help participants learn to write impactful stories. There will be opportunities for participants to join a regional workshop on Climate Change in 2021. The Clean Cooking Alliance (CCA) accepts proposals for the development of a spatial platform to support the government of Nepal to achieve clean cooking for all by 2030. Throughout the platform building process, the selected consultant and CCA will co-host webinars for key stakeholders to share learnings and support the clean cooking sector. The British Council offers grant funding for interdisciplinary research workshops on climate change. Researcher Links Climate Challenge (RLCC) grants are designed to provide financial support to host virtual research workshops for participants from the UK and partner countries (Vietnam, Indonesia, Pakistan, South Africa, Egypt, and Brazil). Lead applicants are required to take an interdisciplinary approach by bringing together early career researchers from different fields. Workshops must take place before the end of August 2021. The Earth Journalism Network makes small grants to journalists based in eastern India and coastal Bangladesh to report on the effects of Covid-19 in relation to climate change efforts in the region. The grants have to be used to produce in-depth stories relating to people or groups most at risk from global warming. Selected journalists will receive an average of US$500 to cover their costs associated with this type of in-reporting. Grants are open to early- or mid-career journalists. Germany’s International Climate Initiative (IKI) seeks organizations willing to enter into a strategic partnership (or commercial relationship) for building and developing investment capability, particularly around entrepreneurial programs, in order to mobilize capital for the most promising climate innovations in their portfolio. EIT Climate-KIC is particularly interested in organizations that have skills and capabilities required to manage investment programs with institutional capital as well as expertise around fundraising. The Nature Conservancy invites applications for the NatureNet Science Fellows program. The program awards 2-year fellowships to promising early-career scientists and engineers who seek to improve and expand their research on climate change and the loss of biodiversity. Fellows will work with a Nature Conservancy mentor and a hosting senior scholar(s) at one of the partner universities. Research stipends range from US$74 thousand (graduate fellowship) to US$118 (PhD fellowship) over two years, plus travel funding and a research budget. Climate Tracker seeks young researchers with media experience to explore the green transition from COVID-19 in Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, and Vietnam. The aim of the research project is to help develop a clearer understanding of the region’s media coverage of this theme and will involve interviews with several journalists to identify their challenges, needs for support, and capacity building.
