Climate Solver is a climate innovations platform developed by WWF to strengthen the development and widespread use of low carbon technologies. WWF-India invites submissions from small and medium enterprises that offer technologies that significantly lowers carbon emissions or provide sustainable solutions to enhance energy access. The PNG-Australia Off-Grid Electrification Program (Pawarim Komuniti) supports access to clean energy in rural and remote communities in Papua New Guinea. The Program will support local off-grid energy solutions such as solar home systems, and others, to provide rural households, community service facilities and businesses with affordable access to clean energy. Selected organisations will receive funding in the amount of between PGK250 thousand and PGK3 million. Pawarim Komuniti will accept proposals from legally registered national or international private companies and NGOs eligible to work in Papua New Guinea. NEF invites applications for the 5th Africa Energy Ideas Competition which aims to accelerate the development of early-stage energy firms across Africa. The competition is open to early-stage energy entrepreneurs from Africa to collaborate with local research institutions or industries. Young professionals between the ages of 18 and 35 years from Africa are invited to participate and nominate a relevant local research institution or organization. Winners will pitch their proposed prototype model at the 2020 Nigeria Energy Forum, in Lagos (Nigeria) and a cash prize of up to $5 thousand. The deadline for proposal submission is 30 January 2020. The C40 Women4Climate Tech Challenge seeks women-led innovative tech solution for climate with a measurable impact to experiment them in C40 cities. Thematic areas of interest are: Adaptation and risk cities response, Healthy public buildings, and Green and healthier streets. A total of US$40 thousand in funding will be split among the winners to support their experimental phase. The European Commission seeks to support South African Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) in the fight against climate change. Grants are intended for projects focusing on youth participation, gender equality, and capacity building activities for climate change mitigation and adaptation actions. Grants under this call must fall between the minimum of €300 thousand and the maximum of €700 thousand. Eligibility extends to non-profit organizations legally registered in South Africa. The European Commission invites applications for the Ocean-Monitoring call to support the development of ocean energy. The objectives of this call are to increase the amount of environmental data and improve knowledge, to contribute to reducing uncertainty in modelling potential impacts of future ocean energy devices, to provide guidance to ocean energy developers, and to inform stakeholders and help feed the public debate about ocean energy. The Commission sets a total budget of €2.3 million for this call. EU Member States (including overseas countries and territories) and non-EU countries (applicants established in non-EU countries if their involvement is necessary in view of the nature of the action and in order to achieve its objectives) are eligible to apply. The EU-India Clean Energy and Climate Partnership seeks to strengthen scientific and technological cooperation in energy research and innovation. Proposals should propose to develop solutions and tools for the optimization of the local energy network with high replication potential across Europe and India. DST will fund the Indian consortium members for a maximum project duration of 42 months. There are no minimum or maximum grant amounts. In total, funding of €18 million will be available. In addition to the six mandatory participants (three from India and three from Europe), there is no restriction on the additional number of participating entities/organizations. The Asian Institute of Technology invites applications for the Loom Nam Khong Pijai Scholarships for masters degree programs in infrastructure development; energy technology; oil, gas, and natural resources development; and environmental engineering and management. Eligibility extends to nationals of Thailand, Myanmar, Lao PDR, Cambodia, Vietnam and China (Yunnan and Guangxi Provinces). Each scholarship covers tuition and registration fees, accommodation, and a bursary for living expenses at AIT‘s residential campus in Thailand for the 22 months of the masters program.
