IHE Delft and Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) announce a new open online course on “Water Productivity and Water Accounting using WaPOR.” The WaPOR program assists countries in monitoring water productivity, identifying water productivity gaps, proposing solutions to reduce these gaps, and contributing to a sustainable increase in agricultural production. The online course targets practitioners and academicians who are working in water resources management and related fields and have an interest in using open access remote sensing data and other open-access data to assess the water resources situation in their region. The African Water Resources Mobility Network (AWaRMN) invites applications for the Scholarship Mobility Program in Water Resources Management. Candidates can study full-time study in any of the Master of Science/ Master of Technology (MSc/MTech) academic mobility scholarship programs of AWaRMN in any of the Higher Education Institutions within the partnership (namely RU, UNIKIN, FUTMINNA, MU, and ENSH). AWaRMN funding will cover tuition fees, research cost, subsistence allowance, flight ticket and visa costs, and health insurance. The program on international water cooperation seeks to improve coordination and cooperation over shared waters in regions where water is, or may become, a source of conflict. A grant for up to US$950 thousand will be awarded for a multi-donor partnership mechanism to support cooperation on shared waters. Eligibility extends to US and foreign non-profit organisations, institutions of higher education, and public international organizations. Applications have to be submitted by 14 August 2020. The Darvish Yu Water Fund supports projects that provide safe drinking water and sanitation facilities at the grass-roots level in developing countries. Grants are up to US$4 thousand per project. Any organization working at the grass-roots level aiming at addressing water-related issues in developing countries is eligible to apply. Applications are accepted throughout the year. Details here
Australia’s International Water Center announces funding for two international candidates accepted into the Master of Catchment Science in Australia. The scholarship will cover tuition fees of up to AU$56 thousand for full-time studies (2 years) in Brisbane, Australia. The program is open to candidates from all around the world. The Young Water Fellowship targets young entrepreneurs. Selected Fellows will be invited to participate in a 10-days training workshop in Ivory Coast. The workshop aims to empower its participants to implement projects addressing water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH), water pollution, and water scarcity. All training costs (flights, transportation, accommodation, meals) are covered by the organization. To be eligible, applicants must be 18 to 30 years old, be fluent in French, intend to stay in Ivory Coast for at least 1.5 years after the training and spend at least 15 hours per week to work on their social business. Australia’s International Water Center announces funding for international candidates accepted into the Master of Integrated Water Management in Australia. Two scholarships will cover full tuition and living expenses of up to AU$95,564 (Type A Scholarship), and a third will cover full tuition of up to AU$58,989 (Type B Scholarship). Applications are invited from eligible countries in Asia-Pacific; Africa; Latin America and Caribbean; the Middle East; Europe; and North America. The Chrysalis Trust makes grants for the relief of poverty and disability, and the promotion of access to shelter, education, healthcare, and water. The geographical scope is locally in the North East of England; nationally in the UK; and internationally in developing countries. Past awards include examples of small-scale water projects and other support for local communities in Bangladesh, Zambia, Kenya, Syria, and elsewhere. Most grants are under £10 thousand.
