The Partnership for Research and Innovation in the Mediterranean Area (PRIMA) launches a new call for proposals. Projects should focus on sustainable water management to combat land degradation and desertification and promote ecosystem restoration. Up to four projects will receive up to €4.1 million each for 36 months. Companies, enterprises, non-profit organizations, NGOs, public research organizations, and universities from the following non-EU countries are eligible: Israel, Tunisia, Turkey, Algeria, Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon and Morocco. The MIT Water Innovation Prize is a startup competition focused on water innovation. Submitted projects must involve a technology, product, service, or process aimed at solving a problem related to the world’s water challenges. Entering teams must include at least one student who is fully enrolled at any college or university. There are no restrictions regarding nationality. The Mülheim Water Award honors practice-oriented research and development projects as well as the implementation of innovative concepts for a secure drinking water supply and water analysis. People or institutions from Europe (geographically defined, not politically) can apply with innovative procedures, products, concepts and new findings with a strong focus on practical use and application within water management. The World Bank invites youth aquapreneurs (age 18-35) to apply to the Youth Innovation Challenge: Water Solutions for a New Climate Reality. Participants will receive training, support, and mentorship from World Bank professionals. The challenge is open to youth entrepreneurs from around the world. The Reece Foundation makes grants in support of projects that support access to clean water, sanitation or water for agricultural & food security purposes. Projects are supported both internationally and locally. The Foundation accepts grant applications for proposals between US$5 thousand and US$30 thousand. Water Changemaker Awards is a global initiative that aims to recognize high-level commitment and leadership for climate resilient water investments to support a water-secure world. The initiative promotes the most promising climate resilient innovations to enable them to access new and innovative finance sources. Selected Water Changemakers will receive technical assistance and seed funding to scale up their innovations. Entities are eligible if they have been operating for at least one year. Global Water Partnership-Caribbean (GWP-C) supports the implementation of short-term, small-scale, innovative demonstration Integrated Water and Wastewater Management (IWWM) projects in the Caribbean. Each project for rural community-based interventions for wastewater management must have a total cost of no more than US$20 thousand with a duration no longer than six months. Interested organizations registered in the following countries: Jamaica, Barbados, Antigua and Barbuda, The Bahamas, Guyana, Grenada, Dominican Republic, Trinidad and Tobago, Saint Lucia, Belize, Suriname, St. Kitts and Nevis and Dominica are eligible to submit a concept note. The International Water Resources Association (IWRA) invites early-career water professionals to submit applications for the Publication Mentorship Initiative. The program aims to facilitate and encourage mentoring junior water professionals through the development of articles that are publishable in academic journals. Applicants must be academics, advanced post-graduate students, or professionals working in the water sector no older than 35 years. Applications must be submitted no later than 31 July 2023. The Eramet Water Resource Innovation Challenge 2023 seeks innovations in water management for mining and metals industries. The innovation challenge aims to minimize the industry’s environmental impact while also ensuring access to valuable resources. Start-ups and SMEs from around the world are invited to propose innovative technologies or products that address key water challenges of the mining and metals industry to protect water resources.
