Global Water Partnership-Caribbean (GWP-C) supports the implementation of short-term, small-scale, innovative demonstration Integrated Water and Wastewater Management (IWWM) projects in the Caribbean. Each project for rural community-based interventions for wastewater management must have a total cost of no more than US$20 thousand with a duration no longer than six months. Interested organizations registered in the following countries: Jamaica, Barbados, Antigua and Barbuda, The Bahamas, Guyana, Grenada, Dominican Republic, Trinidad and Tobago, Saint Lucia, Belize, Suriname, St. Kitts and Nevis and Dominica are eligible to submit a concept note. The International Water Resources Association (IWRA) invites early-career water professionals to submit applications for the Publication Mentorship Initiative. The program aims to facilitate and encourage mentoring junior water professionals through the development of articles that are publishable in academic journals. Applicants must be academics, advanced post-graduate students, or professionals working in the water sector no older than 35 years. Applications must be submitted no later than 31 July 2023. The Eramet Water Resource Innovation Challenge 2023 seeks innovations in water management for mining and metals industries. The innovation challenge aims to minimize the industry’s environmental impact while also ensuring access to valuable resources. Start-ups and SMEs from around the world are invited to propose innovative technologies or products that address key water challenges of the mining and metals industry to protect water resources. The winning business will receive €50 thousand to test and deploy their solution. The call for applications is open until 13 September 2023. Know more

The Fondation SUEZ supports access to essential services such as water, sanitation and waste for underprivileged populations in developing countries. One reward goes to an unregistered, royalty-free innovation developed by a non-profit organization. The other recognizes and encourages an initiative led by a social entrepreneur. The Japan Water Fund and the World Water Council announce the call for application for the Kyoto World Water Grand Prize 2022. The winner of the prize will receive ¥2 million (approximately US$18 thousand). Eligibility to compete for the prize extends to non-profit organizations with an established record of striving to solve critical water issues at the grass-roots level in developing countries. The RELX Group sponsors the RELX Group Environmental Challenge to recognize projects worldwide that best demonstrate sustainable access to safe water and/or access to improved sanitation. The challenge is open to individuals and organizations (profit and non-profit). Projects must advance sustainable access to safe water where it is presently at risk, and/or access to improved sanitation. The first prize is US$50 thousand; second prize is US$25 thousand. The Water and Development Partnership Program supports transformations to ecologically sustainable water management practices. The Program launches a call for proposals open to applicants from non-European low-and middle-income countries. Ten projects with budgets up to €400 thousand will be selected. The call is open for projects that aim to redress issues related to inequities and ecological degradation in water-related developments. Submission of preliminary ideas closes on 22 May 2023. The International Water Association calls for nominations for the Ardern-Lockett Award and the IWA MEWE Early- and Mid-Career Researcher Awards. The Ardern-Lockett award recognizes outstanding contributions to research and practice in the field of Microbial Ecology and Water Engineering. The MEWE Early- and Mid-Career Award recognize accomplishments of a mid-career professional in the field of Microbial Ecology and Water Engineering. IBM launches a request for proposals to help accelerate global water management solutions for vulnerable populations. IBM will support projects that can help improve access to safe drinking water for all, improve water quality by reducing pollution, increase water-use efficiency, protect and restore water-related ecosystems, increase sanitation management, and reduce the number of people suffering from water scarcity. Nonprofit and governmental organizations are eligible to apply. IBM provides organizations with credits for IBM Cloud and IBM Environmental Intelligence Suite Data APIs as well as technical mentorship to advance the initiative. The Commission for Environmental Cooperation (CEC) invites youth to propose innovative solutions that address and respond to critical issues related to water. Residents of Canada, Mexico and the United States (and its territories) aged 18-30 are eligible to submit science, technology and business innovations. The winner will receive up to C$15 thousand in seed funding and mentoring from the Commission for Environmental Cooperation. Submissions are due by 03 April 2023. Youth Innovation Challenge
