We are interested in expanding nascent projects in NW Cameroon dealing with some of the many social, environmental and economic facets of farmer-grazer conflict. There are several US-based academic institutions participating as well as capable local (Cameroonian) NGOs and representatives from universities and relevant ministries. Thematic areas include improved pasture and silvopasture development as well as building on alliances between farmers and grazers in areas of high conflict (transhumance hot-spots). The later would involve the use of agroforestry technologies for some or all of the following: restore water catchments and watersheds, buffers to reduce pollution, development of fertilizer and fodder sources, and economic diversity (fruit, fuel-wood, honey, etc.). Any advice on multi-year funding opportunities would be greatly appreciated.

You could possibly consider looking into the DIV program at the U.S. Agency for International Development: You could also contact CIFOR and ICRAF at their hub offices in Yaounde to inquire about their current projects, and to look into partnership arrangements for new project proposals.
