The Czech Development Agency (CDA) was established in 2008 as part of the strategic and organizational changes being introduced in the Czech Republic’s framework of development assistance. The CDA primarily focuses on the design and implementation of bilateral development.
The aim of the Czech Republic is in line with the international community to reduce poverty in the developing world. Themes at CDA include agricultural development and training; land and water management; water supply and sanitation; waste management; and pollution remediation (among others).
Grant Programs for Agriculture, Energy, Environment, Natural Resources
1 — Czech Civil Society and Local Governments. The CDA offers competitive grants to Czech civil society organizations and Czech local governments for collaborative projects in developing countries. Eligibility extends to Czech development NGOs, academic institutions, and county and municipal governments.
2 — Fellowships and Scholarships, Developing Countries. The Czech Ministry of Education, Youth, and Sports administers a program of international fellowships and scholarships for study at Czech universities. The study areas include agriculture and natural resources.
