The Whole Systems Foundation makes small grants for environmental education, alternative energy, and resource conservation in the USA and developing countries.
The Foundation’s grant making is guided by the underlying goal of creating positive change through decreasing the impact of humans on the planet.
Grant Programs for Agriculture, Energy, Environment, Natural Resources
Project Plastic Planet. The program focuses on waste management and chemical pollution. Of particular concern is the issue of plastics and the contamination of the food web that results from their use and disposal. The Foundation supports research into the toxicity of plastics, especially to sea life, and practical solutions to replace, reuse, or at least remove plastic from the waste stream.

Recipients of grants for international projects are nonprofit organizations in the USA that are active in environmental issues in developing countries.
Most grants range between US$1 thousand and US$5 thousand.
