Primate Conservation, Inc. (PCI) is a nonprofit foundation dedicated to studying, preserving, and maintaining the habitats of the world’s least-known and most endangered primates.
PCI makes grants to support original research that can be used to formulate and implement conservation plans for the species studied. Project field work is concentrated in the countries where most primates live.

Grants for research on primates. PCI’s grant-making interests are the following:
- Field research on primate behavior and ecology;
- Least-known and most endangered primates;
- Conservation strategies for primates.
PCI makes grants to graduate students, qualified conservationists, and primatologists who study rare and endangered primates in their natural habitat. Awards are made to individuals through colleges, universities, and other nonprofit organizations. There are no restrictions by nationality or country of residence.
The maximum grant is US$5 thousand.
Each proposal includes a justification, project description and methods, timetable, budget, and other supporting details. Applications require support letters from relevant government agencies in the countries where projects take place. PCI indicates additional materials to be presented.
Applications are submitted in English. PCI reviews grant applications twice a year, and it posts calendar deadlines for receiving applications.
