Clean Cooking Alliance
Grants to increase the use of clean and efficient stoves for household cooking in the developing world

The Clean Cooking Alliance (formerly known as Global Alliance for Clean Cookstoves) is a public-private initiative to create a global market for clean and efficient household cooking solutions. The Alliance aims to foster the adoption of clean cookstoves and fuels in 100 million households by 2020 to address issues of health and safety, women’s work, and environmental degradation.
The Alliance has several objectives:
- Expand awareness about the benefits of clean cookstoves;
- Support training and demonstration of their use;
- Promote market intelligence about where improved stoves are wanted and needed;
- Encourage research and development of improved stove technologies and product designs; and
- Foster increased capital investment to finance the growth of cookstove enterprises.
Grant Programs for Agriculture, Energy, Environment, Natural Resources
The Alliance makes grants to help launch innovative pilot projects for clean cookstoves and fuels, and to fund capacity development and capital needs of businesses that make and/or market cookstoves for the developing world.
APPLICATION: The Alliance’s website announces grants for research, capacity building, training, entrepreneur support, in-country alliances, and other initiatives that help advance and catalyze the clean cookstoves and fuels sector.
The announcements include funding opportunities offered through the Alliance, as well as opportunities offered by external sources.

The Alliance offers an information platform for carbon research studies and documents.
The Alliance is a relatively new program (from 2011-2012), and it invites partners and members.
