Climate and Development Knowledge Network
Grants for research and technical assistance at the interface of climate change and development
Principal Office: UK
The Climate and Knowledge Development Network (CDKN) is a program to help developing countries achieve development that is compatible with climate change.
CDKN offers research, technical assistance, knowledge sharing, and partnership support to the governments of developing countries and to other partners.
Grant Programs for Agriculture, Energy, Environment, Natural Resources
1 — Research Grants. CDKN supports applied research and other knowledge products (e.g., technical reports, policy analyses, etc.) at the interface of climate change and development.
Research at CDKN aims to combine scientific excellence and innovation with expressed demand from the developing countries. CDKN uses research grants to foster partnerships and build research capacity.
2 — Technical Assistance. CDKN offers technical assistance to policy makers at national and sub-national levels in priority developing countries, and to some international organizations and NGOs that manage programs related to climate change.
The range of services includes support for stronger institutions and policies in relation to climate change; programs, strategies, and technologies to address climate change; and identification of financial sources to fund programs.
Interested organizations should contact CDKN’s staff, or explore opportunities indirectly with other organizations and programs.
Note: The CDKN is not currently commissioning new research, but future research opportunities will be posted on the Current Opportunities page.
